Cause Trevor says it makes me look like Elvis. :hat: I had a problem with my boots catching on the rear sets. The over the boot leathers helped stop that. I also feel they are more comfy because you don't have the leathers jammed in your boots. There is material that goes into the boot but it is tight around your leg and no where as thick as the leather. Plus, I like the look of it.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if they did or not.

Be careful with the small name "custom" suits unless they are hand made here in the USA....

There is a reason Alpinestars, Dainese, etc., is still around and the big players in the suit game. If you need help with sizing or have any more questions, take a few minutes and give the shop a call; one of the guys here can walk you through all of it!

I'll agree that it's worth being careful about small suit manufacturers, under the understanding that that doesn't mean they're inherently bad. You can't go wrong with the big names, but with smaller names you can get a nice custom fitted suit for a nice price.

Is there a lot of "re-branding" in this part of the industry?
Seems like there would be for what is a relatively niche' market.

The only rebranding I can think of offhand is usually by motorcycle manufacturers. For example, Triumph-branded gear is rebranded Alpinestars gear.

i dont think dainese or alpinestars etc will let any brand lesser known put their name on their shit but then again for the right amount of $$$ anything is possible

Well sure to the big boys, AStars, Dainese, RS Taichi....i'm sure all of their stuff is only for them.

But there are tons of smaller to medium sized companies that i'm coming across. Seems off that everyone would have leather sewing factories specific to all of these tiny brands.

Example: I SWEAR the Cortech Latigo boots are THE EXACT SAME as the Teknic boots just a new paint job.

Anyway, just a curiosity for me.

Its down to the AlpineStars GP Pro, Dainese Laguna ($$ though) and an RS Taichi.
I'll be in chicago in a few weeks and plan on stopping by the D-Store and trying on a Laguna suit, and maybe the Chrono. I might fall in love who knows.

:thumb: On ACT Protection. Great product at a great price. Andy is a stand up guy and great to do business with. ACT has a ton of their stuff out west as mentioned and also the AMA.

The AGV Laguna is a decent one as well it retails for around $1200 but Motorcycle superstore has it for 899 tons of ventilation and it is comparable to the higher price suits

I would wait and see what Arlen Ness has new for '14. It's gonna take a bit to get me away from them and that's because of crash results that myself, jeremy, Palella, Jason Farrell and others have all seen. In fact the suit that I crashed in 3 times (one of which was a 110+mph crash) was crashed in another 2-3 times and a seam JUST broke. Be patient. A lot of new stuff is still yet to come out.
