Hi, I'm new here and to riding in general. I signed up for a track day in Barber on March 22. Coming from Florida and visiting Alabama for work. So might as well try Barber. It's my 2nd track day. Hope all goes well. :rawk:
Good for you. We will be there May 9,10. Hope you have a blast. Be sure to write a report and on your experience. We've never been to Barber either
I second both of these comments. STT is a great organization for newer riders, I found myself. If your first track day wasn't with them, be prepared for some structure, but there's a wealth of knowledge and experience to be gained from one day with them. Go in with an open mind and be ready to have fun!
checked out the track and museum late afternoon today. headed to the hotel...what will happen tomorrow? The weather forecast is "continuous rain from 12am tonight until monday".....
Shitty forecast. Sadly it's a part of track riding that sucks. These are rain or shine events as laid out here https://www.sportbiketracktime.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=10 Policies & Procedures: Weather Policy • All Sportbike Track Time venues have a "rain-or-shine policy". • The track facility may call rain days and you must be present to receive a voucher. • Rain-check vouchers are non-transferable and expire 12 months from date of issue. • In the extremely unlikely event that management at a venue calls the day prior to any on-track activity due to the track being deemed "non-ridable", a make up date may be issued for a future date of the venues choosing. This date will be the sole remedy and Sportbike Track Time will issue no refunds/credits for future events. • An event voucher will be issued to all riders scheduled for the event. This voucher may be transferred to another current STT member of the same skill level group if desired
Dude, it was good meeting you this weekend! It sucks that your only day at Barber was rainy as hell, but I thought it was fun anyway. No one can predict the weather far enough out to be useful to us for booking track weekends, but if you can make the drive again you really should give Barber another shot. Hope to see ya there again soon!
