I don't know what happened to the original thread...... I have explored some options for the "portal/home/start page" and i've found something. I will try to implement it as soon as i can. I've also noticed that one can tag people using @ sign and their forum name. So, i'm gonna tag a few people @VernLux @mastermindtrev @steve p Please let me know what you think of the forum so far. There is also no need for the advertisement infested tapatalk, as the forum is responsive and looks great on mobile devices. You've had more time to use it than i have. Let me know what you've found, missing, etc. Maybe add to my list. Copy the list and add below. I remember someone saying to add again the 'buy track time' Thank you, Tea 1. Add Buy Track Time link 2. 3.
You could change this flavor text before, correct? I don't think us normal folks have access anymore.
I have to say that it seems to be ...OK, but I have to admit, I'm not as fond of it as I am the vBulletin software. I moderate two different forums (FZ09 and FZ07 motorcycles) and the 09 forum uses the vBulletin and the 07 uses this software. It seems to me that the VB stuff is easier to use, at least from a moderator standpoint. Bottom line is if it is working well and not a pain in the rump for you to take care of, and the public likes it, you've got a winner.
How do you PM someone? Also how can you search for posts prior to this upgrade? Going to the all all statistics it's not there like last site.
No such thing as "PMs" anymore. It's now a "conversation". Upper right side of the page, mouse over your inbox and a drop down will show. You can start a new conversation or look through your previous conversations.
This forum should look in the phone's browser about 10000 times better than tapatalk. when tapatalk was a paid app, it was great. now it's just a bunch of advertisements. one of the reasons we moved to the new software. give it a try. it scales really well to any size.
@VernLux , I hear ya. The first thing I did when i took over the tech operations for STT a few years ago, is to convert phpBB to vBulletin. I loved it. The problem is, vBulletin 3 was released on 19 March 2004. A LOT has happened since 2004. vB was sold to someone else, and vB 4 and 5 are horrible. the problem with keeping the old version is that the other sites require more updated platforms to run on, and vB 3 just won't do it. and i don't even blame them for not keeping it up to date, legacy is legacy. two versions behind. and it was kind of time.. so, something had to happen. i did some research and found out that the original developers of vB are now making this forum software, so I went with it. 't is what it is. vB had to go, but i loved it too.
I liked the V Bulletin as well much better.... No offense to anyone but this is too tricky to use and a bit slower IMO...
Did we loss the ability to "search" the older vBulletin threads. Lots of good info there it would be a shame if it was all lost.
