I have a big and alien-shaped head. It is long and skinny, the aria Signet-Q fits like a glove. But, it seems to be a bit more of a standard oriented helmet. As in back of the neck is low-ish, making it hard to prop your head all the way up in a full tuck (especially noticeable riding with a hoodie under my jacket). And the visor is low-ish, slightly hindering vision in full tuck. Anywhays, my helmets 5year expiry date is looming, and ill need a new helmet. any suggestions? Can't be used or N.O.S. because I need fresh manuf for racing
I recall reading somewhere that AGV helmets tend to have that long/narrow thing going on. I've tried one on, and it fit fine, but never rode in one.
i wear 2 speed and strength ss1300's on track and they are phenominal and well priced ... they crash well too
My head is similar, and the Arai Profile was the best fitting I could find after trying many brands. Signet-Q replaced the old Profile and I just ordered a new one from RidersDiscount. Their service is awesome. Richard
Put your head in this for 10 minutes every night. Remember, no pain, no gain!. Soon you will be able to purchase any brand helmet you wish!
Haha a vice is what most helmets feel like. Front-to-back, at least. I can fit into a S&S, don't recall which model. Not ideal fit, tho. Probably bearable for 30min or so. I've tried ICON to no avail, when everyone said they were long oval (I really don't think so). I'll check into AGV, can't recall trying one on. They look nice, and some seem to have a race-y fit. I had an HJC IS-16 that was fairly comfy. Id come back after 2 hour rides with a giant red circle on my forehead. I honestly didn't know that there was a helmet shaped for ppl like me; the signet-q, that is. But like I said, it seems to be less of a race/tuck-oriented fit. And they're like a bagillion dollars
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ls2-arrow-carbon-helmet this is a long oval design, and track oriented. i cannot speak for its quality, i was looking at buying it and if i had a long oval head shape, i would have. just another option.
My long-oval head loved the Shoei X-12. When that went out of date, I was forced to switch. That's when I found the Signet Q. After half a dozen race weekends and a few endurance hours, I haven;t found anything to complain about. I'm subscribing to this thread for further info. Good luck!
This link should help you find something .. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/motorcycle-helmet-shapes.htm
I don't notice it in a tuck, but going into a corner with my head up I can feel something catch on the leathers when I look into the corner sometimes.
The Arai Corsair X can be adjusted/custom fit with different cheek pads, top pads and helmet liners. If the Signet Q works for you then a Corsair X can usually be adjusted to fit. This is not something you should try to do on your own i.e. internet sales. Go to a qualified stocking Arai dealer to get fitted. Best of luck
I thought I was the only one having those problems with the Arai on full tuck. I've got the RX-Q with over 3500 miles and it still feels awkward, had a Suomy before that and the fit was perfect.
