My brother is doing his first t-day this month in Tx. And meeting me in Nov for Barber (hopefully) But he doesn't want to drop 1k on a suit. Any suggestions? He wears a 56 in Dainese. Not sure about A*. He hasn't tried any on in that brand. He's 5-10 @ 205lb We have looked at all the regular spots. Ridersdiscount.com Sportbiketrackgear.com Cyclegear.com Revzilla.com All the suites seem to be 800 or more.....
You could do a suit rental at the Stt event in November. Contact Cyndi to see if they have your size and for the details. Outside of that I have had great luck with the alpinestars suits. Sportbiketrackgear has the 1500 atem suits for 899. Great suit for the money
I've got a 2 Piece Joe Rocket that would fit him for $100 plus shipping to start him out. Even includes vintage STT knee pucks.
Unfortunately....he's doing a trackday with another organization. In Texas on the 23rd. He has already signed up for 3 out in his state and the 4th will be with us on our soil! So...just trying to help lil brother out. I will push him back over to STG. That's the first place I receommended.
I'll ask....but I think he's pretty set on a 1 piece. Have any pics I can shoot over to him? Never hurts to ask. Garyscarpino@hotmail.com
i got a brand new speed and strength that ive only worn a handful of times .. would fit him great with a back protector, its an entry level suit ive only worn a handful of times because its too short for me, im 6'4"
I don't think he is looking for an entry level suit. Even though this will be his first time on track....he has already set goals and he doesn't want to buy gear twice (unless he has to).
10-4 ... $250 if he is interested .. its well made and i rode it in the A group so i trust it but it doesnt have some of the fancy features the $1000 suits have .. figured id offer it out for a deal cause i remember the expenses, as do we all, when we first got into this sport
Tell him to go the the WERA board and look for something used. Lots of good deals there as long as you know his size. Otherwise, pretty hard to get a quality top end suit for under a G, unless you are buying on a closeout, and even then, they are limited sizes, usually the most popular sizes. http://forums.13x.com/index.php?forums/race-gear-and-accessories-for-sale.56/
IF he only wants to buy a suit ONCE, make sure he fits it with back/chest protection ON...or he will be...
MAKE SURE HE TRIES IT WITH BACK (and Chest Protector) ON!!! Save him lots of money when he has to buy another one because it won't fit when he moves up and requires additional armor!
