So my radiator started leaking and it looks like I'll need a new one. I'm just not sure if I should take the chance and throw a used one on the bike or just say forget it and buy a brand new one. I can get a brand new OEM for $319 but with remodeling going on the house money is a little tight at the moment and I don't know if I would be able to get the brand new one by my first trackday in May. Our entire basement had to get gutted with new walls. Any inputs would be helpful. It's for a 2007 R6 by the way incase someone has one it really good condition.

I was reading reviews on those that are going for $90 and they said it's horrible. I think they are China made which is what I never buy especially when t comes to my bike

Yeah it seems like you either get lucky with those or not. Had a buddy that bought one and the mounting tabs at the top weren't even spaced right but he shimmed it to fit and then it burst while bleeding the cooling system. Thinnest damn aluminum I've ever seen.

I just looked on their site and can't find the radiator. I emailed them though to see if I'm just blind or if they can order it for me. Thanks for letting me know about partzilla though! I never heard of them till now

I bought all my valve shims, gaskets and seal with them. Consistently the cheapest prices out there.
Side note, more than once I was given a date for shipment that was several weeks out. None ever took that long. Most made it under 7 business days.

How bad is the leak.... I had a few TLR Oem rads leak and after putting in a small tube of silver flake stop leak and flushing properly it is fixed...no leaks at all... That stuf works if done right.. But only use the silver flake stuff... $6 fix.. And my last one in Feb was dripping , draining bad...

It's not bad at all. In fact nothing is dripping onto my garage floor. I only noticed it because the very small amount of white smoke that came up and the smell of sweet smell.

Use the stop leak... It will work.. And on a leak that small probably for good.. I had a Bellypan full of water wheni arrived at the track one time.. Put that stuf in the next AM and it's been fine ever since.. I did it years ago on another bike too...the key is to get the flakes...

I am all about fixing stuff for cheap as let's face it this sport is a money pit and it drains funds quick for no more then the shear enjoyment of blasting around a track at high speeds( totally worth it!)

With that being said when it comes to certain things it's just worth it in my opinion to fix or replace it as let's say the hole gets big enough it holds no fluid anymore and you don't realize it until that Saturday morning you go to tech after driving 10 hours, paid for gas, hotel, fees etc... if I were you I'd just fix it right. I've been there and had stuff like that happen and it's a drag to waste all that money just to watch everyone else ride or to grenade your engine. Just food for thought...

No one has mentioned if it's bad enough, hits the track could cause a unexpected off by not only the leaker, but those behind THAT GUY.

Last coolant leak, took 3 sessions to get the track open, even then we had cones and oil dry on the track to avoid for the rest of the day.
That rider went down and the two behind also took an unexpected trip.

I've seen that happen at Road Atlanta at the end of the long straight... only reason I didn't fall is I saw the three riders who were ahead of me a decent amount all fall together and I took a different line and quickly exited the track with I might add a oil/coolant mixture as someone's engine went and spread it all over the place.
