First, is it ok to use tire warmers with the Michelin SuperSport EVO tire? Second, if I can, what tire pressure should I be running? Same questions with the Bridgestone S21 tires?
You can run warmers with any tire, bit it is not necessary. Start with 30r/32f (hot) on the SuperSports and go from there
On the s21's low temp only 30f/28r cold its a pretty solid tire I only warm mine in the morning for grattan
The SuperSport isn't a race compound, so it doesn't run as hot as race tires. Unless your warmers have a low setting, you will just be waiting for them to cool off rather than warm up.
Actually I didn't consider this, but it is true. (Don't ask how I know) Supersports will get greasy when they get too hot. They do give a good bit of warning, though.
Hey all, I wanted to make sure and clear up the tire temps and pressures for the Power Supersport and Power Supersport Evo tires, these same recommendations hold true to the all new Power RS as well. Operating temperature range is 150 degrees, which means tire warmers that are set at 180 degrees do not work, like the other response indicated, they'll have to cool off before they get into the range of operation in which they were designed to work. The pressures, we have found that they best work at F31/22R cold pressure and F34/R25 off track, these seem to be the pressure that the tire operates, wears and performance the best in.
