Not sure if this thread is in the right spot.I have noticed in the past couple years of doing trackdays I get headaches towards the middle of the day.I drink
alot of water and gatorade, hit the restroom often,so I don't think I'm dehydrated.I thought maybe I have allergies from pollen or whatever as I do trackdays at RA and BHF,which both have and abundance of trees, etc. This really only happens at the track, and I take Claritan, then some Advil.I'm thinking something to do with say M12 race gas?Exhaust fumes? I cut the day short yesterday at RA because of this.Anyone have the same issues?Any ideas would help.

I had that happen my first trackday. I think what helped for me was hydrating a couple days in advance of the track days, and bringing a fan to help cool off between sessions.

how does your helmet fit? tight spots in the padding could be causing pressure leading to headache.

could also try taking some Advil ect, before it starts.

as mentioned above, to be really hydrated you need to start days before the event.

If you are sweating alot, you need to intake some sodium too, just water/ gatorade wont do it all. could try pedialyte as well.

Sodium? As from what?I am guilty of not hydrating days before. My next trackday is at RA on the 10th of July,so I will start hydrating on Saturday.Helmet fits good, last year I put thinner pads in as I wear glasses.I will take Advil and Flonase(inhaler, for allergies) By the way E Van you were in my group at RA on 6/5 and 6/30.I think I passed you on the front straight at the end of session one from watching your utube videos. Thanks for the input!

Do you ride on the street? If so then I would guess for more than 20 minutes at time.
If so then the helmet isn't it. That was my second thought as I had a helmet that would give me headaches after 45 minutes.
For me that leaves 3 things, hydration, stress, and your eyes.

Stress can cause you to tense up, that causes your muscles tighten up. Tightness in your back, shoulders to the NECK and then HEAD. If you aren't sure, get someone to give your shoulders and neck a hard rub down before track day, and after your headache starts. Would bet your tighter than a drum.

I WAS taking off my prescription glasses because there a pain in my helmet.
If you don't wear glasses, might be the time for a checkup.

Lastly, water, water water. Should be peeing every session, clear is a clue your keeping up on the water.

Sorry, won't stop while I'm passing you, lol.I have a 2008 Gixxer 600,blue/white.I'm the only rider on the track that wears a Hit Air vest.I usually pit on the paddock close to the front straight.Just got back from watching the races there,no headache,so I think now I need to hydrate more, especially days before a trackday.

Best thing I ever did as I used to have the same problem as you was get a toyhauler and go into the A/C between sessions. Made my track weekends much more enjoyable and I took more out of them as I didn't feel as drained and exhausted.

I can tell you hanging out in our pits the night before won't help!! On a serious note hydration and electrolytes are key... Great point about the AC also...

Just thinking out of the box, but it could also be the exhaust fumes (hardly none of the bikes are EPA legal, lol). I know I do ok, until I get behind a bike with race gas, then it's like ugh.

    :p HAHAHA

I actually don't like the smell of race gas, I guess it has to do with my CF.

That may be it. I tend to get a headache if I don't have my coffee in the morning.
