Noob question. Can a rear tire with directional arrows be flipped, such as a Michelin 2ct. Would like to use the other side of my tire at Tally. Would like some input from someone who knows.
If you ride TGPR a lot, as I do, you will learn that flipping is not only OK, it is a must. You won't notice the difference. Just don't do it in the rain.
Thanks, the tire has one Track day at Tally so I might flip it when I mount the tire. Can you use the same tire twice at Tally without flipping?
Some will NOT flip the tire unless the tire has arrows going both directions. Legal mumbo jumbo. So might check with them before hand.
Have never noticed anyone look at the rotation of the tires, have never heard anyone fail tech from this.
I get two days on each side of a rear tire at TGPR, so 4 days. Usually about 6 days per front, but I rarely flip the front. YMMV
I ride in I group, but Tally wears tire like no other track. Some of my buds in A group only get a weekend out of tires there.
Easy to destroy a tire a day at Tally with a flip at lunch at a trackday. I've toasted a tire in 3 10-lap sprints there before. Putnam with the fresh pavement was eating tires when I was there the end of May, killed a rear in 6 sessions.
I personally have fried a Michelin rear in a day at tally even with a flip. With that being said following event at tally I went with pirellis equivalent compound and got two full weekends out of it.
