So I have recently purchased my wife a r3 and she is wanting to do track days. My question is the cost and how different is it to a normal days as far as coaching. She is nervous about the track. And am I seeing right? Is it free for members? A normal day at tally is greater than 65 bucks but cheaper than 150 for members. So I'm guessing the extra cost is for more instruction? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Looking at the September day for her.

Ladies Days are Fantastic. My wife has been ridden a ton of them. the Grattan day is $99 bucks and I think the little tally day was the same last fall. if you signed in it may come up as 0 since your in as a guy and can't Ride on ladies first.

Just as much instruction a lot of times more coaches a very laid back day. If she has never ridden on track she should qualify for a ride right spot. where you get your first day for free

Just to clarify the girls are more courteous than most boys. which creates a great environment for learning

Got ya, thanks for the input. It was showing 0 for members price and 150 for non member for little tally so I logged in and it showed 150 as member price but I assume that's because I'm a dude lol but I haven't seen any ride rights this year. She is taking the Honda riders course this weekend which she is excited about.

She will love the ladies day! It was my daughter first track day 2 years ago and it was a great introduction to the track. The groups are smaller than a reg. track day and she will receive a lot of attention. Hopefully we will see her there!

I'm not sure what the Honda Rider's School is (like a MSF course? Where they teach you how to operate a motorcycle, etc.?), but there is no prerequisite to the Ladies Days other than knowing how to operate your own bike :). As long as she can operate that fun R3, she is ready! This event is for women just like her: has a motorcycle, wants to get into trackdays but a little nervous about jumping straight in with a bunch of guys. There are so many coaches and staff ready to help these women feel relaxed and comfortable, and that's when they start having have fun! Big grins for everyone coming off track :D

We'll take care of her! Hope to see you both there!

thanks! She is doing good so far, we try to ride every chance we get to get her more familiar with the handling of the bike. But yes the Honda course is a basic msf couse, and taught her the basic fundamentals, now we just gotta teach her how to handle the bike at speeds. Not a fan of her doing it on the street either. She was super excited about the ladies day, but unfortunately she found out she will not be able to take off from work that day. We are also having a problem finding her a suit. All the suits we have looked at on the sizing charts doesn't fit her measurements from head to toe. So we just planned on ordering her a custom suit, I just hope she really gets into the track or the custom suit will be a waste.... I mean I don't even have a custom suit lol. But I'm pretty sure she will enjoy the track, heck she enjoys just coming out and watching me, and she did a 2 up ride at barber with me and loved it. If she doesn't get out there this year she will definitely be out there next year.

That's a bummer she can't get off work that day! She can always come to Barber that following Monday (if she can get off), and that would be a lighter attendance day for her introduction to the track as well ;).
Woman's gear...I know the feeling - don't get me started ! She's more than welcome to rent a suit with us for her first day (free) or for a small fee thereafter until she finds one. I would recommend custom for any woman if she gets into it, but you can also try finding a suit that mostly fits and get it tailored to fit in the meantime before dropping that kind of money. Sportbike Leather Service can help you take the waist in or shorten sleeves, etc.
Anyways, sounds like you have her "on the right track" for her development. Let her get used to the bike and its controls some before coming, but save the pushing for the track! She'll be well looked after at any event she comes to, so I look forward to seeing her out on her own in the future! Feel free to message with any questions you or she may have.

Unfortunately she will not be able to take off until the end of october. We will be coming to barber in november and hoping she will be ready to do at least one day by then. If she doesn't have a suit I will definitely look into renting a suit. She is excited about riding which makes me happy, now she can really enjoy the track (except now its gonna be twice as expensive lol).

Hi - I'm a Track Day curious female and I'm wondering if it would be cool to come to the ladies track day as a spectator of sorts? I'm not at all track ready but more in the phase of just wanting to check things out and get a feel for the bike and equipment I want to invest in and what other expectations to have. I'm kind of thinking of riding my not at all track appropriate Indian Scout over from Atlanta with my bf who is also Track curious just to wander around and get a feel for the culture. Is that doable or totally inappropriate? Thanks!

Yup, we welcome spectators anytime! Hope to see you guys out!
I'd say that if you have a track-appropriate bike, to go ahead and sign up and come on out as this event only comes around once a year and is totally worth it for the first time track ladies. There is minimal bike preparation, but if there's anything you don't know how to do or don't feel comfortable doing, fortunately at the Ladies First events, the staff offers extra assistance for such tasks. We can help unload bikes from trailers and get your bike ready for the track (taping up lights and wheel weights, etc.)
As far as your boyfriend who is also interested in riding on track, I invite him to come out to Barber this weekend if he has a track-appropriate bike too. We honestly have a wonderful novice program, setup to accommodate first timers (guy or gal) at any event!
This Saturday at Barber will be a special day as there will be a track walk and potluck dinner after the track goes cold. Mr. Barber doesn't often grant permission for track walks, and it is truly an eye-opening experience, especially at such a top-notch facility.

Wish I could. Seems like work or weather have kept me out of the previous rounds. Cant wait until one of the dates falls on my weekend off. Hope there is a good turn out and everyone has fun.
