Ok one more question about ncm. My rear tire is more wore on the right side than the left from the last trip to Road Atlanta. My question is would it be worth to flip the rear? It looks like NCM has a few more right handers than left, I only plan on using the current tires on Saturday and changing them Saturday night. Is the right side wear worse than left at NCM or is it about the same?

And thats what I was kinda thinking and plus I have never been to ncm so i'm sure I won't be running a decent pace till Sunday. I probably could even get 2 days out of the rear, who know guess we will see.

T5 is a very fast right hand sweeper that will pay hell with the right side of the rear tire.....if your pressure is wrong or your suspension isn't dialed in. T14 ???? is another pretty fast right hander too. I fought it for a few years till I got my pressure dialed in. Just sayin'

Well that pretty much sums it up, I can see from the map now there will be some hard accelerating right handers, and that's where my tire is wore the most on the right, I may go ahead and flip it then change them sat. night. Thanks!

Oh, and if you've never been to NCM, watch out for T12......it's a blind, uphill, quick right hander...also known as "deception"....and there's a good reason for that. In fact, grab a coach if you are in I or A group and let them drag you around a few laps or even a session.

Not really, just one. Turn 3 to turn 5. The other 2 straights are left accelerating. Accelerate off of turn 13, and then off 19.

NCM is a great track but can be a little hard on the right side. Lot of right-handers that you can get on the gas pretty quick coming out so suspension and type of rubber is important. I'm a Dunlop guy and started running 7455 medium compound rear and front when the track first opened. They wore well and even, had great grip and did the trick. This year we noticed a change - it seems the track has gotten a little more abrasive - so I switched to the 8477 medium plus compound on the rear and tried a 2662 soft compound on the front. These are definitely the right tires/compounds for this track today. No more tear, good even wear, no loss of traction at all, and Dunlops can carry more heat cycles without hardening than any other tire I've ridden on. I've ridden liter bikes there and now running a '17 Gixxer 750.

Well unfortunately Hurricane Irma took a toll on me and my house. I had 3 large oak trees fall onto my house then yesterday, Me and some friends were attempting to remove some limbs off of said trees, and said limbs were hiding the edge of the roof. In turn I stepped right off the side of the roof, and dislocated my shoulder. A trip to the emergency room later, I'm fixed up but unable to ride a motorcycle for a few weeks. So my weekend is not going to happen. We will see everyone at Barber in November.

Dang, sorry to hear that....heal up fast and glad you are mostly OK. The good news is, you're not going to have any abnormal tire wear this weekend on the right side......or either side for that matter! :D

I hope that at least got you a chuckle.....you probably needed something to smile about.

lol yeah that gave me a chuckle. And theses dang tree company's are making a killing. 7700 bucks to remove the rest of the three trees from the roof. I'm in the wrong business... scratch that, that business got me injured in like 15 minutes haha. I reckon we will have to save ncm for next year, and that abnormal tire wear lol. The good thing though, all 3 bikes that were in the garage were not hurt, which makes me very happy!
