Totally done with the street except for a couple rides Mar/Apr to get ready. I did 9 track days last year that netted 1050 miles. Plan on doing 12-18 this year.
I still ride on the street, to and from work. Sometimes a nice Sunday ride, once you hit the track you tend to tone it down on the street.
i have a street bike...i think i started it in december one day. I would commute on it but all of my kids dont quite fit (or so the state trooper said)
I still love street riding but I don't push nearly as hard. As I've gotten used to the track and what REAL speed is I've realized that there is really nothing to prove to anyone on the road. Plus if I were to mess up my bike being stupid on the street it would hurt my ability to get back to the track where the real fun is. The street is just so much more dangerous. I still love finding twisty roads but I leave much more in reserve.
I'm still street all the way. There is so much more to see street riding. We do 1000 mile weekend trips! Good thing my R6 is relatively comfy.
You used R6 and comfy in the same sentence :lmao: I still enjoy the street ...well back country roads, twisties etc. :wheel: but at a slower, safer pace (which isn't interpreted as such because most riders never been at the track, so they don't understand the meaning of fast. Most of them believe fast is what I'm doing on the street, which isn't. )
Wife and I both have cruisers. I have a sportbike but since getting the track bike, I may have to sell it to pay for trackdays. We do enjoy the cruiser rides in the spring and fall.
I still ride the street all the time, every day for about 9 months of the year. I rode 17,000 miles last year. Several bike trips each year, including one for three weeks out West last year.
we don't do any street riding. I don't miss it a bit. I especially don't miss: slippery stuff all over the road animals (dead or alive) cops cagers texting/putting on makeup, etc. and my favorite thing NOT to deal with: LIT CIGARETTES flying into my helmet!
