So, there's been talk about MotoGp testing and the Daytona 200, doesn't anyone here also pay attention to WSBK? 2 rounds down and no postings about it. We have 2 Americans, PJ Jacobson in SuperSport and Nicky Hayden in SuperBike, doesn't anybody care about that?
nicky hayden isn't impressive and when 1 manufacturer dominates the first 4 races, it's not that exciting.
I have a WSBK videopass but I must admit to being bored. Last year there was no parity between SBK riders/teams. This year it appears to be more of the same. Hard to find it interesting when it's not a competition. OTOH, I have high hopes for MotoGP this year. But, to answer your question, I care enough about the sport that I purchased a VideoPass. However, the results make it an uninteresting topic to discuss on forum.
No competition?? Did you guys watch the races?? So far all 4 of them have been close, awesome races! Sure Kawasaki won all 4, 3 of them being Rea, but Chaz was right there in Philip Island and 2nd race of this weekend. VDM was there in the mix as well. Chaz will win some races again, I have no doubt about that. I'm betting VDM will win a couple as well, probably at Assen. Yamahas are new but once they get sorted out and Lowes catches a break, I bet he and Guintoli will be running up there at the front as well. I'm not putting my hopes in Hayden. But I do hope PJ fights for the championship in WSP. That was a great race in Thailand as well.
I've watched both SBK races in PI, highlights of 1st race in Thailand, and saw the results for the second race. In SBK, I just don't see the competition. For SSP, I have not watched any of those races or heard of the results. I will, just too little time. Glad to hear there may be more competition in SSP than I saw at PI or heard about in Thailand.
i have been out of the loop on wsbk since speed channel changed and they stopped airing it. I don't have the channel it comes on but my parents do, so it has been set up to record at their house. Did get to watch Saturday's race already. I'm just wondering what happened to Honda?? When Rae was on it it couldn't hang with the kawi's, now, VDM is right in the mix with them. I was impressed, and knew if Rae got on a better machine he would be in the runnings for a championship. But what happened to aprilia? They aren't running up front like they used to...
WSBK and SSP has very exciting races. I watched all of them so far and in my opinion is better then most other race series. Close racing, lots of fights for the lead. I love it. Jacobsen is riding very strong and has a serious chance to win the title this season, especially with the TenKate Honda. Hayden is still trying to figure out the bike for real since the competition is very strong but he is able to run in the top 5 every race. Not so bad i would say.....
Honda has improved for this year. Even last year they were pretty weak, considering they had Guintoli who had just won a championship, and I don't even think he ever got a single podium. I think 5th is about as good of a finish as he got. VDM got a couple of podiums. This year it seems that Honda has improved their bike. Aprilia is not running up front because it's not in the championship ...sure there are a couple of them running around with Savadori and De Angelis, but that's not a factory team. They don't have the support that the Aprilia Factory Team had in past years, plus they're riders aren't quite at the same level as the front runners IMO. Likewise with BMW...there are a few privateers, but no factory team.
So I guess Aprilia dropped everything for motogp? That's how long it has been since I have been able to watch wsbk. I'm just happy Honda is competing since I ride one and all lol. But I always like Rae when he was on the Honda so I still pull for him as well. Did I see right that Guintoli is on a Yamaha this year? I got so confused on who was riding what because it seems the only one that was the same was sykes.
Like every year, there's been some changes but not all that many. Rea, Sykes, Davies, Giugliano, Van Der Mark all stayed with the same team for this year. Yamaha joined in and got Guintoli and Lowes. Hayden came in and replaced Guintoli at Honda. Suzuki is gone...probably good since their bikes sucked. And as I said, BMW and Aprilia don't have a factory team but there are a few privateers on them.
I know the truth hurts! ...it was the more unreliable bike on the grid last year, while they were trying to sort out the new Magnetti Marrelli system.
send over a link to the world superbike video pass. I was wondering if they had one like motogp. I glanced at the website and did see it. Ill look again. HHAAA Big red button. Dang.
I'm confused by your question ...what's MotoGP have to do with this thread? And which last lap/last turn at Aragon?? Are you talking about a previous year?
