A bit chilly. Forecast was for 65 last time I looked on Friday, I dont think it even hit 60. Few sprinkles during the 4:20 session so I called it done for the day. Not going to gamble on cold temps and sprinkles on the last day of the year. Even with the cold temps the tires were sticking well and I think all had a great time.
I was riding through the rain, and there were yellow flags out, but it was so light I never saw it on my visor, took me a few secs to figure out what the tiny taps on my helmet were. I only left because I got too tired to ride fast.
It was awesome, lots of open track. Very few incidents, I didn't see Intermediate get a single red flag. All I saw were one or two run-offs. The day went really smooth Was anyone else impressed with the thoroughness of their lead marshal? He did a really good job.
That was awesome! Only 17 registered Novice bikes. We still did classroom, but open format on the track. No follow the leader, but normal Novice passing rules applied. Super wide open except for one or two back ups per session. But its Novice, I never get too upset about slower riders because I was just one of them at the start of the season. One red flag in N but it was for crash truck to pick up a low side, no one go hurt as far as I know. The 3 people who put their bikes down continued to ride. All that wide open track and Im still not comfortable going fast enough for Intermediate speed... Hopefully next year after a nice long off season to clear my head of this season's early crashes. Still had a blast, great finish to the season, I will look forward to an event like this to end next season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Was my first time out with STT and at Gingerman and had a great time. Thanks especially to coach Sullivan. I could definitely feel the progress I made from beginning of day to end. Interestingly I was much more comfortable on the right handers yesterday than lefts. I forgot to ask at the end of the day, but what do you think about me moving up to intermediate? Hopefully Sullivan sees this, otherwise can someone tell me his forum name. I was on the yellow daytona.
I uploaded a vid of a buddy and I from the novice session towards the end of the day... It was my 2nd track day and was a blast just like the first at Grattan! Much improvement is needed for next year... some of my lines and turn-in points were pretty poor... although i'll excuse that slightly because it was late in the day
Here's an A group collection, maybe you're on it. First time at Grattan, so I wasn't exactly flying in this vid. Nice Ducati came by and had a perfect pace for me to put it all together. A Gen 2 R6 gets pretty squirrely when he crosses the seam under power, some other interesting moments here and there.
