Swodi and WA: Please send a pic to hmoore at uab dot edu. I see that WA is local. I could certainly use it to get to Little Tally Saturday AM.

You'll have to forgive me for not knowing what the Versa Trailer is. I googled it and came up with several results. Can you provide an online link to the trailer?

    This?

Thanks Indy. I see that the pic above is correct then. WA, I await your response. I would like to use it to get to Little Tally tomorrow morning.

I've used that exact hitch carrier from Discount Ramps. It seems to be built pretty well. I've used it 3 times so far. I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it fits well. The first time I used it to haul my ~ 400lb Ninja 300 from New Orleans to Austin. It was about a 16 hour round trip. I was a little nervous at first but it felt very secure and sturdy the entire ride. The only small problem that I ran across was that the hotel that I stayed at had a pretty pronounced "V" shaped parking lot. As in, it was lower in the middle than it was on the sides ("V"). Because of the angles, when backing down the "V", the hauler would slightly scrape the asphalt as the asphalt on the other side of the "V" was coming up. In the same sense, you have to take it slow coming down curbs. Other than those small clearance issues it has allowed me to transport my bike easily, and on the cheap, with no help. It can be installed, the bike secured, the bike taken off, and uninstalled by one person.
Personally I would rather, and would have spent the money for an actual wheeled trailer but I just don't have the space to store it. I also hear that Harbor Freight has a foldable, space saving trailer but I've never researched how well those work. Another option I considered is renting an open U-Haul trailer. They are pretty affordable.
I guess what I'm saying is, if storage space is an issue, it is a good options amongst others, and I'd recommend looking into it. If storage space is not the issue, you can find a pretty sturdy, more useful open trailer for not much more dough.

Thank you for your response! That certainly helps. Space is definitely an issue. I plan to only use it for short hops to Barber's and Little Tally, possibly Road Atlanta. So, it seems to fit the bill. With this season done, I'll pick one up near the kickoff of the next season.
