Michelin date code

    Picked up a new-to-me bike with Power Slicks. Am I seeing the date code here?

    It should be a four digit number with the week and year in WWYY format.

    That is what I was looking for. This is the only other marking that looks non-standard.

    Check both sides of the tire.

    The only thing 4 digit is the center of the first pic, which is why I'm puzzled.

    No reason to be puzzled Giggity.......that tire was made the 14th week of 2011......1411

    Oops, looked at the wrong picture. Yours is the date code number for sure. He is looking at the wrong set of numbers.

    it says 9114 and 39D ... 91-52(weeks in a year) is 39 so .... idk where im goin with this i just thought id add that little bit lol

    France puts the day first, then the month, SO, I am thinking it's 9114 (9th day of 1st month 2014) 1-9-14. Just a guess.

    According to some random forum post from 2011...

    Call Michelin and ask I guess. Alternatively, how long ago did Michelin start making that particular tire?

    I believe the Power Slick Evo came out last year, so the Power Slick was probably the ~2 years prior. It's a project bike, so I still have time to decide before I get it track ready for everything else anyway. I will probably give the folks at SportbikeTireService a call.
