Im right next to port Washington. My gears in newberlin tho. Which i think is 15 mins from you. If i dont go to that on I could definitely hook u up.
I go through Milwaukee about twice a month now -- hooray for the Midwest! But BFR and ACC are both excellent tracks to start out on. I started on the smallest of the small tracks, VIR Patriot - 1.1 miles on a Ninja 250, and I'm still riding now, so small tracks are great!
To answer the original question: Any track is good, in my opinion the organization matters more than the track. You're in excellent hands with STT.
Ya I liked the look of that one is it fairly low profile? At least enough to fit under my suit. And ware is the best place to buy the gear ill need?
Mran Ya that's within an hour so close enough. While I definitely appreciate the loans ill see what I can get 2nd hand off here. Maybe I don't have to owe you to many cases or bottles of whatever you want. lol
When I was first in the market for a suit I took a drive down to the Dainese Store in Schaumburg. Between the D-Store and the Cycle Gear about a mile away I was able to try on a bunch of different suits to see what fit me best. Shopping online - sportbiketrackgear.com has very knowledgeable staff and is my go to if I need to order stuff.
Being the "noob" track rider that I am, I started at Autobahn. The course is forgiving (there's plenty of run off). I was at BlackHawk last weekend (and bumped to I) and I must say, that track is amazing. However, there's not as much margin for error compared to Autobahn or Gingerman. If you're open to criticism and willing to change your riding habits based on the advice of others, tracking with SBTT is where it's at. No, I am not being paid to promote them, I'll happily do it for free.
I won a track day at RA and had a blast. This was my first track day.I'm a corner worker and wondered what it would be like to be out there. The day was well run. My coach made sure I was comfortable I had no big expectations and just took it all in. Yep it is fast. Great turns to work on cornering. I was lucky to be able to use all of my son's gear including bike, and he took vacation to be my pit bull. Hope your day goes as well enjoy the ride.
I was there that weekend, didn't see you. Congrats on getting bumped to I. You are right about the error margin. Autobahn provides more run off.
I dont think it matters what track you do first. They are all lovely just like your first and second girlfriend.
I have a back protector that should work for you. Forcefield T-Pro size medium. Older model of this: http://www.forcefieldbodyarmour.com/product/pro-sub-4/2339 Message me if interested, and if you want it, we'll work out a way to get it to you. Welcome to the addiction and to the family.
I see BHF leading this poll but BHF is notoriously the track with the most accudents. I would not recommend someone's 1st track day to be a BHF! Road America is one of the fastest tracks so I wouldn't recommend that one either. For a 1st timer, Autobahn North Course would be my recommendation as it flows nicely and you can get into a nice rhythm.
