Hello all, Just signed up for my first track day a week or so ago. I'll be at Barber on 9/4 and pretty excited about it. Been riding for a while and I've always wanted to get on that track but life seemed to always get in the way. Got a good deal on a track prepped F4i and stoked that I'll finally get to actually ride the thing haha. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and hopefully I'll meet some of you in person in a few weeks.
Welcome! I'm newer as well...started with STT last year on a cruiser. Became addicted, decided I needed more track-oriented steed(s). Decided I needed a trailer. July made me realize I needed a generator for a fan. Between sessions in the paddocks I think "gee...maybe my kids don't need toys or new clothes or college...then I could get a bigger truck or maybe a camper...". It is an addiction...but healthier then numerous alternatives with a similar rush. Take advantage of the coaches. They have valuable knowledge that they like to share. I partially regret spending so many sessions doing my own thing.
Yeah, my bank account is not as excited as I am lol. I think I might be addicted to sport bikes in general. Bought a 636 last year, took it up to the mountains and realized I'm not as brazen as I was when I was 19 and decided I should get something a little more chill. The 636 ended up being a basket case so I sold it and instead of following through with my plan of getting Guzzi I decided I'll take the cars, cops, and ditches out of the equation and get another sport bike that I'll just ride on the track.
Get out now!! Drugs are cheaper!!! No really. Welcome, nothing beats the track and this organization is among the best if not the best. There will be plenty of folks to help you at the track. Have fun and keep it shiny side up.
Welcome to the family! RedSpade and I will be there same weekend, maybe we'll catch up between sessions or after the day. It's always nice to meet new riders
Welcome, and you could not have picked a better track to start, Barber is to racing what Augusta National is to Golf! If you have time check out the museum.
Barber is gorgeous and I've been wanting to get on it ever since I watched an AMA race there back in college. Museum is also pretty nuts. I finally went last year during the vintage festival and saw 7 Brittens at the same time in the garage. I think they had like 9 of the 10 at Barber that year.
