Some of my fastest times ever at little tally was on a bone stock cbr. Stock suspension and all. Did low 102s and a very high 101. And I was 225lb at the time.
sure did, which goes back to a post up there about not feeling the back end for sh*t, one second it was there and i was elbow down on the long sweeping right at the back of the track and next minute im on my butt sliding across the pavement .. the rear slid out from under me, im guessing a TTX shock would have prevented such an incident?
It would not prevent anything although you would feel the instability/edge or grip before it went. That is the reason I tend to get aftermarket suspensions. Also I am 190 pounds so most stock suspensions would need to be resprung anyways. Hope you are okay after the fall too. Also performance is better too. My friend rode his zx10 with the stock suspension and then my BMW with the aftermarket ohlins and said that he had to work a lot harder to run the same pace
All of that said I am not the fastest guy out there and I don't race. There will be racers like Steve pallela and Tim price and a few other coaches who may be able to provide more information on the difference
This is where aftermarket components shine.. While they dont prevent crashes just being on the bike, they will provide you with feedback.. Feedback you can use to avoid the crash hopefully. But.. even Rossi crashes.
Oh you are the really fast guy on the r1. i could use some pointers from you and the guy on the green 2007 r1.
yeh im fine, went down at about 110 but since i was already on the ground pretty much i didnt have far to fall lol thank goodness for the double layer ass on my suit .. id have a rashed ass if not for it, rearset peg was a little ground down, replaced it and kept riding the rest of the day .. 4-5 seconds off my regular pace tho, never crashed twice in a day, wasnt going to start .. not to mention it was brutal hot and i was worn out
Lol No.. I said I think I know the guy on the r1.. I don't have the r1m, Don't have the quick turn throttle And wish I weighed 185lbs!
To keep this simple...Until you are running into the upper middle of A (and maybe more), in all likelihood a well-tuned stock suspension is just fine and you would get more bang for your buck with training vs. parts. As example, Jason Pridmore ride a bone stock bike (now a ZX10) and smokes all those guys with fancy suspension....
Found some video of you from that trackday.. The video is from the alleged r1m that has 'everything'.. video is 4min long, I first saw you guys at 2:00 then ran you down pretty quick.. Mayb this wasn't your best lap.. It wasn't for me, I'm obviously not the fastest guy out there and am relatively new to the racetrack. but I ran 204 as displayed on my dash. Do you have any pics of your lap timer showing 1.59?
So you were the really fast guy showing all of us advanced guys how it is done. I need you to work with me next time
