It is with the heaviest of hearts we report that today at Barber Motorsports Park, one of our riders passed away this afternoon during on-track activities. No other bikes were involved in the incident. The entire STT family is affected by this sad event and we ask that you keep the rider’s friends and family in your thoughts and prayers. Our deepest condolences to all.

With my deepest sympathy's to the family of the fallen rider..

As my wife says, to those who say to her. You let him ride at his age. Her reply, if he dies at the track. He will die happy doing what he loves.

No matter how advanced motorcycles get, the chance of paying the ultimate sacrifice unfortunately will never be eliminated. My thoughts are with the ones left behind.

I hate to see this but after riding with STT for 10 years, when you count the sheer number of bikes and miles ridden at sometimes very high speeds, it is still much safer than riding to the corner store. It doesn't make it any easier to lose a fellow rider though.... RIP :(

It's hard to hit the "like" button on this thread but there are a few comments that I did, this being one of them. My family knows and accepts that I do this because I love it. They are also aware that it could be the thing that ends my life and would be devistated but also at peace knowing that I was enjoying myself to the fullest. I have often told my wife that traveling to and from the tacks have been where I've experienced the most danger and say "feel ok with it (dying in transit) as long as I was on my way home knowing I had a great day." I agree that track riding is much safer than any form of commuting. So while it doesn't make it any easier to loose one of own, I respectfully celebrate that they were doing what they loved to do and send my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends left behind.

It was a tough way to end a day.. When they told us to take the bike off the trailer I knew right away what the outcome was.. Also keep his friends in thoughts he was there with... They just met the day before and were car pooling.. I know what it's like first hand returning and dealing with bikes with the family members of the ones that pass.. No fun at all so much respect to them.... god speed.....
