Anyone who has ridden Barber in November: Is it too cold to enjoy (physical comfort as well as tire grip)? Looks like average highs are in the mid 60's & lows below 40. My only experience with these temps would be long commutes to and from the office, and it's fairly miserable in the mornings (granted, naked bike & only 3 season gear).

I was wondering this as well. I can deal with whatever temperatures, but will the tires warm up?

Perfect weather there in November... A little chilly in the AM's but nothing like March... Don't miss this event.. It will sell out for sure..

IMO November is a bit hit or miss in Alabama. You are likely to get an AWESOME 70 degree day. You might also get a high of 50 with it drizzling rain all day. The later you go into November the more the odds slip to the second type (though I have ridden in December with it being 80).

That said if it is dry then it will not be to cold. At worst you will have to worry in the morning about low grip for a session or so. Also the last session might be a no go due to light. Certainly the last one is brutal with the sun setting over 11 on the back straight.

And a day at the track vs a day watching football.... really?

I rode a November event at barber three years ago and it was 75 deg both days and sunny. Perfect weather and perfect track conditions. I would bet the same weather. It will sell out quickly too

In! Yes, cool in the mornings and early sunset. If you're concerned about tire warmth, just give them a few more corners to warm them up. It's like riding in heaven!

Grip is a relative term. Will you run the lap record? Not likely if the weather isn't there. If you use the right tire compound, you maximize your grip. But that is dependent on tire, track surface, temperature, sun or cloud cover, phases of the moon etc. Traction is finite every day. You have to work within the limits of what you have each day.

I haven't been to Barber yet and with the season winding down and knowing that STT was running there this weekend, I just had to sign up for November. Excited already, can't wait. It's going to be a long 4 weeks!

Anybody know if they allow you to camp Sunday night into Monday? Coming from/to Chicago, so I was hoping to start the 10hr journey back home Monday morning.

Yes but in Lot G outside the track across from the Museum Parking lot... You need to be out of the gate by 7PM CST. .... Just let Security know...Shouldn't be a issue.. Porta Potties down there but no running water....
