Amazing time last weekend at Barber. Weather, instructors, corner workers, and the vendors were all fantastic! Between sessions I noticed a nice trail of tiny ants up on the 3rd tier eating a tiny morsel of food on the pavement. My first thought was, wow! they have cement ants here in Alabama as the nearest soil was over 20' away. 10 minutes into our 30 hour RV trip home I quickly discovered those tiny tenacious ants has loaded up by the thousands and were making the journey with us. As my co-driver raced down the highway I started emptying every cupboard, drawer and compartment and cleaning them with Clorox wipes. These buggers are behind the walls as every time I wipe them out a new line shows up 15 minutes later. They're a bit like Spiderman as they crawl up walls and across ceilings. Thankfully they're not fire ants. Anyone else pick up an ant colony in their vehicles and have any trick to kill them fast? How long do they live without their queen?
Ya know that explains it..... After a weekend there in May I had them in the dash of my Truck all over the place on a trip to Charlotte... It turned into a game with the wife and I who could kill the most....
As my grandmother use to call um' "little piss ants" I didn't bring any home with me but your best bet would be to use the insecticide booms but take out all food items and let it air out good afterwards.
Any good contact bug spray with a long residual should be fine. Get one with a straw in the nozzle and go along cracks. Its been 12yrs since I worked at Orkin so I have no idea whats the new brand that's most effective.
Yep, we had those little buggers in the house once and the little plastic ant traps worked great, haven't seen even one since. We put them inside the house and outside around the house.
