I'm looking for a good entry trackday suit. I've come across RST and AGV Sport. What are your opinions on these two brands and what else do you guys consider a good quality entry trackday suit. I would like to get a Alpinestars, but my bank account says otherwise so that will have to put off till I'm able to save up enough for a good suit like Alpinestars.

Every single suit I have purchased over the past 9 years has been used, and I could afford new if I wanted.

One of the realities of this sport is that there are people who will do their first track day (or race) and think they need the absolute best of everything. They go out and buy a $2000 suit and $300 gloves and $800 helmet. They ride a couple times and get out for one reason or another, and their nearly new stuff ends up for sale.

There are a ton of nearly new middle to high end suits on here, eBay, and forums.13x.com (the WERA board) that are being sold for a fraction of new. Just wait for the right one to come around.

There is no such thing as an "entry level" suit. There are good suits and better suits. All about how much you care about your body. A guy who's done 1 track day can crash just as hard as someone who's done 100 track days. If you go flying at 100 mph, it doesn't matter what your skill level is.

The other elephant in the room is size and fitment. Just like different shoes, each suit manufacturer will fit just a little bit differently in areas. I would highly advise trying them on first if at all possible, or taking an educated guess with a retailer like Revzilla who does the whole free return / exchange thing.

I did all the measurements and bought an AStars from Revzilla for my first suit. To be honest, I didn't even know how it was supposed to fit, so when I tried it on, I actually didn't know if it was truly a correct fit or not. Ended up going to the Revzilla store in Philly, quickly learned that it was definitely the wrong size, and was able to try on a few different versions of Rev'it and Dainese. Made a world of difference dealing with someone knowledgeable and getting to feel different options out.

Thanks guys for your input. I talked to one of my buddies who does several trackdays with STT and he has the same Alpinestars suit I was looking at and I ended up getting it. I knew what size I wore from trying on some in the past. Now just have to break it in. Thanks again for your help and opinions I greatly appreciate it

First order of business will be to put it on and then go out and roll around in the driveway and yard to appease the Track Gods. :D

I ALWAYS throw any new suit down on the pavement a few times and jump up and down on it and make sure it has at least one good scratch before riding in it!

One must make the appropriate sacrifices to the Track Gods to avoid their full wrath!
