Can I ride a bike with no title on the track? If i bought a bike with a lien on it what are my rights as a buyer that holds a bill of sale and the registration? Probably no but I have no idea. If I made it strictly a track bike would it be a fairly safe purchase?

It's unlawful to purchase a vehicle that still has an outstanding lien on it.

That being said, you don't need a title or registration to ride a bike on the track. Just stay clear of a bike with a lien on it, trust me.

Yup. Alot of dedicated track bikes have no title. Issue is, if someone wants to decide to claim it stolen, then guess who it falls on? That's right. You as the buyer.

What they said.. My bike still has the title in the prior owners name..
I didn't want to pay to title it in my name.

That being said, if the lien holder calls it stolen, well think about it.

So right now, you paid for a bike that YOU owe money on to the person or bank who holds the lien.
Get it fixed, you stand to loose, and maybe loose again.
Once you have the title, you don't have to register it.
