I gotta say I had an absolute blast! I was a little apprehensive going in and not knowing what to expect but everybody was super cool. My clapped out VFR blew the main fuse on the first sessions and the DTTR guys got me back on the track. The instructors were more than helpful and all the riders were super friendly. You don't see that in some communities these days. Thanks again for the great time. See you guys at NCM in a couple weeks.
Congratulations.....and welcome to the addiction. My first trackday ever was at Putnam.....way back in 2005. I'll be at NCM in two weeks also, what a great track that is!
It was my first track day as well. I didn't notice a VFR. I've always liked those, for 4 cylinder bikes anyway. Gear driven cam version? I agree the coaches were great and really improved the experience.I learned a lot and had a great time.
Yea, I love the whine of those cams. Sadly, I have to put her out to pasture. Clutch is slipping, plastics are rashed as hell, etc. etc. Is that a Hawk in your avatar? Love those bikes...
It's a Buell XB12, the bike I was riding Sunday. Clutch plates/springs and bodywork can be swapped easily enough, unless the "etc. etc." is "I have my eye on something else". OR, tape up about half your air filter with duct tape. Boom, no more clutch slippage. You're welcome.
Pretty much. It's a sport touring bike and I'm kind of just tired of it.. I've heard good things about the SV650. Going to NCM next weekend then it's going on CL for sale. Hope to see you guys there...
The NCM weekend was one of the most beautiful ( weather-wise) summer trackdays I've seen for a long time....maybe ever. I'm looking forward to the next one in Sept....love that track.
