    Hi there riders!

    My name is Leonardo
This will be my first track day in US.
I am originally from Brazil and was ex-pat by Chrysler FCA group to Michigan.

I'm veeeeery excited guys. And I also have some doubts I'd like help from you to understand.

    Question line up:
Totally new bike. 2003 R1 with many go fast parts that I bought from a person from this forum. Will be wired (minimum requirements) and water flushed by the day of the track
No SAG done yet. I cant do it alone unfortunately
    Totally new track for me
    No tire warmers yet :(
In the tracks I am used to ride in my country and with the gear I have experience I normally am at 3-4 seconds off qualifying pace
I'll be testing, knowing the bike, not pushing hard etc...

What is the recommendation? Novice or intermediate group given the above line up?

Tire pressure for Michelin Power RS (yes, I'll have to use them this time. Next track will be slicks but given the actual expenses made I cant run on slicks this month). Brand new tyres that came with the bike. I watched some videos with 33/25 psi cold. Would you confirm that?

Racing line video. Would you recommend any video to watch to get used to the line? I've seen some, but I'm not quite sure about the racing lines etc...

Any other usefull tips you can think about?

    Thanks a lot folks!

Welcome and congratulations on the new bike. Grattan is a great track with a nice variety of terrain and corners. Here is a link to one of my videos from the track on a 2001 R1:

Sport bike track tire service will be at the track and will be able to help you with all of you tire questions. They are Michelin specialists.

I also have a new bike (ZX-10R) and plan to be there on Saturday. I normally park in the upper paddock so feel free to stop by. Grattan tends to be slippery in the morning so be extra careful your first couple of sessions until you get a feel for it.

Have fun and enjoy the new ride!

    Hi everyone.
I'd like to thank the STT team for the great event organozation. All information was clear. The schedule was followed and also adjusted in order to better serve the riders.
As my first track in US with a different bike I believe I did well on picking the novice group, specially because of the wet pavement on that day.

Unfortunately my bike had an issue with the front brake (vibration followed by metal ding). So I decided to interrupt my day by noon and went back home. I belive I found the problem and fixed it. However only on the track I'll be sure of it.

Special thanks to instructor Wayne (Ducati hypermotard if I remember well). Very patient , calm, teaching the race line and giving tips.

I guess I made a friend there. Julien from France. I rented a garage and invited him to use it so I could have someone to chat and spend time with.

I'll be at gingerman on the 11th. I have chosen the novice group again so I can test the bike and gain confidence

Thanks to all STT team for the excelent organization. This group is great!
    Cheers

Glad to hear you enjoyed your first experience at Grattan, Leo. Sorry to hear that you had a mechanical issue with your bike. I hope all is well with the bike now and you can enjoy Gingerman this weekend.

    Hi,
Any suspension service specialist on Grattan 09/22?
Id like to have my forks internal bushings replaced and oil flushed.
