Looking to get back into the track full time and do more track days and racing going forward. I currently have a 1299s ready to roll, just needs some plastics (meaning i've done the majority of the modifications that I want). I came from an R1M and have been considering going back. While I would have to come out of pocket to a little bit to get the R1M to where I want it, I feel like it would be better for me long term. My pro's and con's are listed below.

    1299 - Pro
    -Good Brakes
    -Light Wheels
    - More power (i'm a bigger guy so this helps)
    - Already modded to my liking

    1299 - Con
    - Expensive to maintain
    -Expensive to repair
    - Pain in the tail to work on
    - Slim chance in finding parts for it at the track

    R1 - Pro
    - Better handling
    - Better Electronics
    - Y Trac for data logging
    - Most vendors have small parts for them on race weekend.

    R1 - Con
    - Power
    - Brakes
    - The cost for me to get it to where I want it.

    Anything I'm missing here?

For trackdays, ride what you want and enjoy the most. Life is short.

For racing, ride whatever is most competitive. Losing sucks.

    Good luck with your choice.

Ride which one you are more comfortable with and like more. That way you can have more fun.

R1 is down on power??? You must be one of the .1%ers that uses everything the bike has to offer and still needs more.:)
