So I am from IN and normally ride at Putnam w/ STT & other providers.. but we are planning on going to Barber for the Oct 12th day... and bring my cousin (from FL) and a couple of friends (From AR) for their first track day... We all meet up and ride together at Deals Gap every year... with Barber being a first class track & about the most centrally located for us.. it made the most sense.. And I highly recommended STT for their structured Novice program. I've been to Barber once before w/ STT, but it was 8yrs ago.. I rode Novice on Sat and Int on Sunday... and I'm sure some things have changed.

We are doing this on a time & $ budget so just riding on Saturday and doing the museum on Sunday. We will need power for fans etc... Are garages available? If we setup our pit on Saturday, can we leave it up till Sunday and load up before heading home? We are worried about our bikes on open trailers in a hotel parking lot???

    Will suspension services be available???

Yes to everything except the garages... get there Fri and set up if you want Power... Trailers and bikes are safe when left overnight.

  3. How late will the track be open for set up Friday afternoon?

Also... I have my '05 R1 w/ full Ohlins that I normally ride... and plan on bringing it to ride in Novice... but I also have the '05 Ninja 250 that I got the wife that I was thinking about bringing also.. its completely stock w/ new tires... just a thought???

    thecurvecarver What's an apex?

The extra oomph of the R1 will make for getting around packs of slower Novice riders easier once you are turned loose to ride at your own pace, since it sounds like you already have some track riding background. It's difficult to get around some on 600/1000's while riding a lower powered bike abiding by Novice class passing rules.

Once you see and ride the track, you are gonna want to put off the museum tour!
