Hi All, A 60-80 hour a week job in capital markets with markets doing horrible, a 30LB gain since last year and a busy rest of the year doesn't make sense for me to keep this in my garage for now. I can definitely use the cash. Details of the bike: 1- 3,500 miles. I bought it at 3,100 miles 2- I'm a Novice rider and only did 4 track days on it 3- Brand new front and rear tire with only 3 track days on it 4- Forks fluid flushed last year by an STT STAFF MEMBER who lives here in the Chicago-land area 5- Fresh oil change done 6- Upgraded suspension work done by SB Suspension/Naperville Motorsports (Kenny) 7- Includes 2 stands 8- Braided brake lines 9- Leo Vince exhaust - $1400 plus installation 10- To be transparent - since I bought the bike I never transferred the title under my name, which I'll do this week and have it my hand by 4/30/2016 the latest. PLEASE TEXT ME if you are interested, I DO NOT check e-mails or PM's most of the day till about 6PM CST... so please text me @ 312 546 3663
$6500 - again, that includes 2 stands, charger, title in hand (in transit) and has $1400 exhaust - click here to see, suspension setting for a 5'11, 220 LB person) Separately, I also have a $1700 dollar SPIDI suit - link here that I wore 3 times (no crashes) and Gloves that I wore 8 times (L) 2 pairs of boots (each worn 2 times - valued at $300)
someone call from this thread from a restricted number, left a vmail without a name? "hey saw your ad on the forum for the r6- please call me back"
Thanks for the comment. Is the overall market trend to low ball the sellers? I've been getting offers like 50% lower than blue book This is what I have that I bought a while ago for around $250. I can let go of them for $150 - again, 8 novice days and no crashes. http://www.sportbiketrackgear.com/knox-handroid-hand-armour-v14-gloves/
I went and looked at the bike (and his gear) on Saturday. Everything he claims is correct. If I was a dedicated trackie, I would have bought the whole kit and kaboodle as the suit fit me perfectly. The suspension on that bike is pristine, again set for a 220 lb. rider which I am. The engine sounded great and rode just as well (my buddy Reggie came along who has been riding R6's his whole life). Feint - I wouldn't worry about these low ball offers, people have a right to offer whatever $$$ they wish and you sir, have the right to laugh under your breath, and say no thanks. Given my first track day ever is at the end of the month, I'm not ready to commit. If I had a few track sessions under my belt and had the "bug", this purchase would have been a no brainer.
Thanks buddy! I'm in no rush to sell now, even if it takes a while. If it's around and the bug hits you - come thru! GOOD LUCK on your first track day!
gloves - gone. Suspension - I don't have the exact breakdown and I'm not a mechanic but I had - forks, seals, adjustment, rear spring service. The front springs needed some work for my weight (seriously not sure what exactly since I did it in 2014) but the bill was hefty for me. Finally, i forgot to mention but there is an extra unit (ECU/Commander) under the seat that I forgot to mention in the original post.
You are correct about the suspension , I realized it after sharing it with others. With being respectful to every vendor out there in the track world - sometimes in the process of educating the novice/newbie/freshman the business part of vendors come into play. When I first purchased a bike as a Novice (2007 600 cbrr) and went for an oil change , I was told that "brakes, suspension and tires are the 3 key elements of body positioning and cornering well. You need better brake pads, you should get braided brake lines, your tires have a date code on them and have an expiration date on them like milk cartons so you need to replace them every XX times, your suspension is so out of whack for your body weight, the springs are meant for small frame Asian men so you need to replace them. Notice how many sessions have crashes? It's because riders are fighting the bikes and end up crashing due to poor suspension, brakes and tires." The above are just some of the things I heard from a particular vendor. When I finally met an amazing coach at STT from the Chicaoland area did I realize that I sort of, again, sort of did not need to spend on a dedicated track bike immediately, neither did I have to do any adjustments till I got the basics right. What even hurt more is to see some folks who have bone stock bikes and are riding A. To top it off I'm in management consulting and felt like a sucker as I spent more time learning from others vs. giving in to the fear of crashing hard. In any case, my venting deviated from the purpose of the thread - the sale..... price drop to $6000 with everything included.
Looks like an awesome bike. Having sold a few dedicated track bikes before they are a tough sell. Very limited market for track only bikes. that said when you find the right buyer....It took me almost 3 months to sell my first track bike but got asking price at that point.
Thanks for the compliment and response! Makes me feel a little bit better. Now I just have to hope for the weather to get better in Chicago-land (not a single good track day yet!) for some buyers to come through.
Technically, we haven't seen even a second of summer ;-) Summer starts June 22nd I believe. I think it's been pretty nice around here actually (except this last week). I'm in Aurora.
