So, I need some help. I’ve got an 04 GL 1800 w/ABS in serious need of a front end upgrade. I am considering the Progressive Monotube Fork kit, or the Racetech Gold Valve and spring kit and having a hard time deciding. Anyone have any experience with, or recommendations for, either of these? Unfortunately, Traxxion is too far out of my (meager) budget limitations at the moment. I’ve poked around on the forums, but there is a ton of variation on which is “best”. I figure I was better off asking the group that actually knows how bike are supposed feel. What about install? It doesn’t look like there is anything too special about digging into the forks on these things, but was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks, or know what the likely hood is that I’ll run into anything weird/unexpected/difficult. Any and all input is appreciated

    Hi JBone.
I'm a Gold Wing owner too, it's a great bike!
There's a recent thread on the GL1800 site, discussing this very item. Check it out -

I think you'll find what you're looking for in there, lots of promising alternatives to the expense of the Traxxion setup, and still really good handling improvement.
