    Hi

Anyone up for the ACC June 10th event? This is going to be my first ride with STT and have marked myself intermediate (not sure of evaluation).

Would be riding a flaming yellow R6 :)

I'll be there on Saturday with my unpainted R3 riding intermediate with ya!

I've heard this was being worked, but in my experience: STT has a very hand-holdy novice class. So people are DYING to get out of it. That leads to, again this is my opinion, too many novice riders in Intermediate. There are also a lot of expert riders (actually good riders) so expert fills up pushing the overflow into intermediate. Now intermediate has novices, intermediates and experts. So you'll find S1000RR's camping in the corners and RSV4's buzzing you elbow to elbow in the straights. So if you're nervous of your evaluation and your in intermediate, you'll be with someone of the same level of experience, guaranteed.

Thanks Magruder13 for the update. So looks like the intermediate class is the riskiest of the lot!

I agree that in intermediate there is a large disparity in ability but there still is a 6 foot passing rule and stt coaches are very strict on that.
At autobahn, for some reasons, it always gets a bit more wild that other tracks.
If you are not sure, go to novice. STT coaches are awesome and you will have a lot of fun if not more. I can guarantee you a fast novice is pretty much one of the fastest intermediate. ALSO track days are NOT about speed. They are about fun and safety. You need to be able to hold the same predictable line every single lap, that means that faster people will get around you very safely.
Have fun, relax, ask a lot of questions, learn from others, pack everything but your ego, and you will have an unforgettable experience....and a new expensive addiction.
    Cheers,
    Guido

    Of course, it's novice.

My only complaint is that I rarely got more than 1 or 2 laps of clear riding before getting caught behind another group. Then it was maddening.

And there are no more intermediate spots available at ACC for the rest of the year. :(

This happens in int as well, so many bunchups of novices riding in int. The only relief is that int has much better passing rules so I can sneak by people.

this is also a reason we get out there so much in intermediate , not only to assist in additional coaching but to help break up the groups.. maybe we will hold a rider up to let other faster riders by. or pit a fast guy in to get them some awesome clean track... with the varying skill levels in intermediate this is paramount to a fun safe time!

Does anyone have a schedule for this event? Even a tentative one would be awesome.

Open for concepts to improve this situation. Int group is always a struggle to balance due to its span of skill sets. Any input?

Will you be around the track tonight? I can talk to you then if you're not too busy.
