Hello I was wondering if for Grattan we had to reserve the Garage or is it on a first come basis? As well as do the Garage have electricity? Does someone have a map of the track and where parking is located around the track's premises. I will be up there this weekend and I have never been but would like to be prepared for anything.

    thanks in advance.
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for coming up to visit at Grattan for the first time. It's a great track with lots of challenges. As for garages, you'll need to call Sam at the track to reserve or they are on a first come, first serve basis when you arrive at the track and check in at the gate. Call Sam @ (616) 691-7221 to reserve garages. I believe it is $40/day or $60/weekend - but don't quote me. :) Garages have electricity. If you rent a garage you can use the parking space directly across from your garage door. That is reserved for the garage rentals. If you have a camper, RV, toyhauler, or tent there are parking spots in the upper paddock (all paved with some grass on the south side of the lot. The lower paddock there is plenty of grass space to park along the side roads.

When you cross enter and cross the front straight of the track, you'll want to veer off to the right and head up the hill if you're heading to the upper paddock and garages. Garages will be on your right. On the left side of the track there is a small pavillion with tables at the end of the first building. The concession stand (lunch only) is under here as well. Further down on that side (across from the garages) is the tech/registration shed. This is where you'll register and bring your bike for tech.

If you want to park in the lower paddock, continue straight across the entrance you came in and you can park anywhere along the side roads. There is no power in lower paddock unless you bring a generator of your own or beg, borrow, steal from your neighbor! lol

There are some maps somewhere out there, if I can't find one I'm sure someone will post one up sooner or later.

Have fun and enjoy. Be sure to grab any of us coaches if you need a tow around or have any questions!

    Hi Paul,

thank you for your response I will call Sam as soon as I go to lunch. See if I can get a spot in the garage. Now my question for the garage is that only for the motorcycle spot or does my trailer and truck fit in there not to be pushy, I just have not been there so with it being my first time I just want to make sure I have all my stuff covered in case it does r*** per the weather and accuweather websit. I will call sam and maybe he can answer my questions, regarding the Garage space. if you do find a map that would be helpful. Since we are planning on arriving on Friday night to camp out there.

Example of what Grattan garages are like. About 4 bikes and a couple tables will fill it leaving room for stands and warmers, etc.

you truck/trailer should fit across from the garage if your there early. but visitors tend to park in your spot if you leave it empty

Practical advice: lift the door by the handle and not by the bottom of the door until you can see it at least. Can be sharp edges.

Yes I arrive at like 11pm on Friday night found a good spot close to turn 5 and I had a blast this weekend I had two great coaches this weekend that made me improve as well as know that I need more improving to do on the next track days I do. All I can really say is I will conquer turn 3 and turn 8 into the bus stop when I go back in late August. Till then Grattan.....

Was a great weekend for sure other than the couple wet sessions but both made the track better.
I had a great well balanced group in novice on Saturday

Yes both days where great I really enjoyed it. I was in group 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. So definitely great coaches at STT, and I will not want to graduate to Intermediate on any other track other than Grattan, so I actually just bought my weekend for end of august and I will be back to conquer this track.
