So, who all is planning to venture out to Bowling Green for the fun. It's fast, it's technical, it's got high speed sweepers, it's got "deception" and it's probably the smoothest track I've been on.....so who's in?
Hey Vern, I'm planning on Saturday. I think it's been at least 6 years since I've been at the track with the 675 (you may remember Nashville) so I'm looking forward to it. And since I'll be rusty at a new track, I'll be novice!
I wish, but it's unlikely. I don't get the big whoop about deception, though...I love it! Last year, I even brought it up at Novice meeting.
It's obviously very "deceptive" when you first go to the track, but it's also very easy to want to really get on the throttle after the very slow previous left-hander......but then there is "deception".
Trying my arssss off to get there...even if it is only for 1 day. Work may be in the way. Ugghhhhhh........ Why is it called deception?
Because the turn is blind and it's sharper than it appears, and the runoff (which doesn't exist nearly enough) is in a blind spot until you are on top of it...and it sucks you in...
Planning it as of now. Going to be cruising the Intermediate group though (still not where I want to be for "A" in laptimes there) But that means I can play with some setup on things.
I'll be there. Still looking for someone able to pickup/dropoff bike in Nashville if possible (see separate thread).
I'll be taking it kind of easy and working on some setup things also. My new to me GSXR 750 got resprung in the front and a different shock (sprung to my weight) over the winter..... and that weekend is it's maiden voyage. I learned some valuable lessons at the Oct. Barber event that I sure as hell don't want to repeat!
Anyone know which course STT will be running? Looks like STT is sharing with East TN Corvette club that weekend...according to NCM website.
I might have a rear for mine but don't think it will get here in time. Mine is mapping then I want to mess with the TC some.
East TN Corvette club was there last year for the Memorial Day Weekend event. We were pitted a couple of spots down from one of the Corvette owners and he was a great guy. He flies for a major airline (747 jumbo jets) and offered Peggy a ride in the passenger seat while he was doing a skid pad run. One run turned into two, and two turned into three. I came off the track and you could see her smiling underneath her helmet when she got out. She a daredevil though and loves fast motorcycles and cars.
I got a garage for Sunday if anyone would like to split. They seem to hold 3 comfortably so I will limit it to that. $25. Feel free to text or PM if interested. 2oh5 936 26 4four
