various tires/pressures

    im venturing out this year from dunlop mainly because i got rid of the nagging girlfriend and took over payments on everything so no longer have that extra income so im buyin take offs and tires i can get deals on etc. what i need is a base starting pressure point HOT off the warmers for the following tires
    - pirelli supercorsa sc-1 rear
    (25-28 per pirelli)
    - michelin power rains front and rear
    (couldnt find any reccomendations)

    i know alot of you run both of these tires, this isnt a should i get them or should i not post, or a post asking what type of tire i should get so please dont recommend i buy the new michelins or pirellis or bridgestones or whatever you swear by, i already bought these tires its a done deal im just looking for recommendation for starting pressures off the warmers by folks who have personally used them and experimented with them

    Pirelli's
    Front - 30-32 hot
    Rears - 24-28 hot (Less pressure more grip, more wear - More pressure, slightly less grip or contact patch and a little better life)

    SC1's work when it' HOT out. They won't last long on cooler days. If you must run take off's, then stick to one brand. You don't want to keep changing setup for different tires all the time. Tires are the last thing you should be cutting corners on. Make sure they are low lap take off's with enough life left in them. The more times the tire is heat cycled, the harder it gets. The less rubber there is, the less heat it can hold. All = less grip. Changing tires makes it's more challenging to learn the tires characteristics and predict a slide or recover one.

    If you like Pirelli and want to make your money go farther. Go with the trackday slicks. They have red markings on them. They have great grip. Excellent life will help them last longer.

    The "trackday slick" is nothing more then a street tire compound with no grooves. Due to the lack of grip I get the same amount of track time as I do with the race slick (spins up on corner exits like I'm on ice) Along with the track day slick "falls off" grip before you get to use the whole tire. So with that being said if your not pushing the limits of a track/street tire it would be a great choice but if you are just step up to a race slick.
