as noted by everyone here, there is so much variation it is mind boggling. At Tally I buy from the food vendor. His prices are reasonable, and food is excellent. I always bring my own water, but buy my food there.

At barber again the food is very good, but somewhat higher cost. So at Barber I only get breakfast at the on site food vendor.

RA, rarely has food. There is one vendor that seems to come to the large sold out events, but it has seemed hit and miss to me.

Jennings again the food vendor is good, and prices are reasonable.

To be honest for what the on site food vendors charge at Tally and Jennings, I cannot bring my food, cook it and clean up cheaper than they charge.

But with all that said, I usually bring some bagels, Jam, Peanut Butter, Bread and lunch meat to my events. I do have a small gas grill so I can cook if I want, but most times for some reason at the track I do not eat large meals. I have some trail Mix and water I snack on during the day, and usually at night water and 1/2 a lunch meat sandwich.

The tally and Jennings vendors are cool, because usually around 2pm they will do 1/2 price or buy one get one free, so I always do that, and have that for my dinner. I buy whatever is on sale, put it in my cooler, and then just heat it up in my microwave for dinner.

My grill has a "griddle" plate and the grill plate. So eggs, sausage, or bacon is fine in the morning, then swap out the griddle and put the grill on and hot dogs, hamburgers or more likely brats for dinner.

Now if my wife and kids still traveled with me, then it would all change. But for just myself and the few guys that travel with me, we keep is simple and cheap.

you mean Perrone isnt the sole caterer at the track? Most people rush in the paddock to get the most convenient spot..... I rush in to get the closest spot to Perrone. This nugg's gotta eat. ha

Well our athletes follow this basic breakfast guide line:

16-32 oz water when they wake up, wait for 30-45 minutes before eating any food.
Each athlete has their own dietary needs but the following is a sampling of what we eat.
Steel cut oatmeal with ground flax seed, greek yogurt with ground flax seed, fresh fruit, lean meat, egg whites, almond milk.

The option of a teddy breakfast pancake: Gluten free pancake mix, ground flax seed, oatmeal, apples/blue berries/bananas, pecans. Crack an organic egg on cast iron griddle, pour pancake mix around the egg, drizzle in crumbled bacon or sausage, flip pancake to perfection. Serve with home made preserves, honey or maple syrup.

This will give you your protein, complex carbs, simple carbs, and vegetable fat and animal fat.

A simple complete meal in one pancake!

^^ that's better than what I eat at home! Last time at grattan, our group had a propane grill so we brought dogs and burgers for lunch, kept breakfast simple with bananas, granola bars. And dinner we ordered a pizza from a local place that delivered right to the track. Worked out well and was only a couple bucks per person...

Continental breakfast at the hotel. Red Bull and a snickers bar for lunch. Reservations for dinner.
