At the end of February I am looking to acquire an enclosed trailer for trackdays. If there is anyone out there, within 2 hours drive of Aurora, Illinois, who is thinking of upgrading their own rig and selling their old, please keep me in mind. I'm prepared to buy new but, if I can find what I want used, for less, I would be interested. I have no hard dimensions but I am looking for a trailer in the vicinity of 7x16. I want to be able to carry at least 2 bikes and I plan to sleep in the trailer when staying at the track - so I need some width and length. 7x14 would be the smallest I would consider.

If your going 7 X 16 I would go ahead and look at a 8.5 X 18... The extra Width makes all the difference in the World...

Thanks for the advice. I will do exactly that! I was a little concerned with the 7' width and, to a lesser degree, the 16' length. Good to hear from those with actual experience.

I have a question, if folks don't mind me adding on here a bit: I am imaging getting a trailer and then adding on some sort of AC unit to it. I'll work through the what and where later but, a thought came to mind and I would love to hear input from folks. First, I have a quiet generator now (yamaha) and whatever I get next, a bigger unit or a second paired unit, will also be as quiet a model as I can find. But, for those of you who sleep in your trailers - is it a faux pas to run your generators all night? Am I a bad person if I do that? (Today I have a tent I use and, as a result, I am camped normally away from those with pulled trailers or RVs - and so I'm not really sure what those folks do at night if they want AC or other electrical support, such as for lights or recharging electronics, etc.). Thanks for any insights. I just want to know before I purchase an AC unit and then subsequently realize I am persona non grata in the paddock.

We have a 7x16 that has served me well over the years. Can get two bikes side by side no problem (especially now with Pitbull TRS!) and have had them front to back as well. There's a workbench with vise that my toolbox rolls under. Used to have cheap fiberboard wardrobe set up to keep leathers in but pulled that out when Dad and a friend loaded it with Harleys. My only wish is that it was a v-nose or lower profile because it kills gas mileage. Get about the same MPG when empty or full of stuff.

I know you are looking for a 16' or 18'....but to help out your cause....

I purchased a 12' for less than 1K locally. Even had new tires on it.

Sleeping in the trailer is what we do to camp onsite. Portable A/C can be bought pretty cheap for the summers. Or....if its cold...we bring a small portable space heater. The trailer gets pretty cold/hot considering the size and we close all the doors (we bungee the side door to a eye hook from the inside) and leave the roof vent open.Simple queen blow-up mattress for 15 bucks and all the bedding (comforters, pillows, sheets) you want.
Board game/ cards in bed make for a pretty comfortable night with the Mrs.'s. We simply unload.....and build our "Bedroom" (which takes all of 10 minutes) and shut the trailer up until its time to call it a night.
I have been thinking about building a fold down bed or drop down bed....but using the air mattress is so convenient and only cost me 15 bucks..... not in a real rush to spend a couple hundred on a bed system that serves the same purpose.

Although the 12' is much smaller than what your looking for..... I currently have 2 chocks set-up in the trailer and can fit 2 bikes side by side and all the track stuff I normally bring. I could save atleast 20sqft of room if I bought 2 TRS systems...but I'm cheap and rather spend that money on track time.
