I'm having an intermittent issue with my bike. Basically the throttle gets into a mode where it is like all or nothing with fuel delivery. Say your giving constant maintenance throttle and then back off the gas just a hair, and the BOOM!... throttle chops completely and instantly loads the front. Roll back on a tiny bit of throttle and again, BOOM!... instant and heavy power delivery. I said maintenance throttle, but really it can happen under heavy acceleration too, or any varying throttle, but maintenance throttle while cornering is where it really gets scary. I know I'm still fairly noobish as far as the track goes, but before you say anything, this is NOT poor wrist control. I can anchor my hand on the brake guard to make sure my inputs are as subtle as possible, and it still goes all or nothing in terms of fuel(I assume) delivery. It is also DRASTICALLY different than when it's behaving normally, which might only be minutes before or after, so it's not the result of fatigue or anything else. This is definitely a hardware issue... As I said, the problem is intermittent, and it will go away if I go into hot pit and let it idle for a minute or two. also, It doesn't happen all the time. Today at NCM, It occurred during two sessions, and after the second I decided it wasn't worth the risk and called it a day:(

So, I got home and started doing some googling, most of which lead me to GixxerForums. Apparently this was a common issue for k6-k8 600s and 750s. It seems that the issue is called the "Herky Jerky Throttle." Most of the posted solutions involved adjusting the throttle position sensor so that it always reads that the throttle is "more open", and adjusting the idle to 1500-1800rpm instead of the 1200rpm stock setting. Naturally, as with anything you find on the internet there are plenty of posters saying that this is not the way to fix it, but for the most part that is the solution people seem to say works best. Also, I do have a PC3, which they also say needs to be recalibrated after the TPS adjustment. Some suggestions also include adjusting the function of the exhaust valve, but mine has been disabled with the full exhaust. So for now this is my plan, and hopefully it will be all sorted out before Barber next weekend, but I was wondering if any of y'all have had similar experiences with your K6-K8(possibly later years too) GSXRs, and if so what did you do about it? Also, if the proposed solution here is throwing up any red flags to any of you all who might(probably) know more than I do I'd appreciate your input. Thanks in advance!
