Seems that the workers at Pocono were mistaken when they said we would recieve a partial credit.

So in a nutshell we're SOL. It's not POCONO's fault and it's not our fault that the weather was poopy.

So here is what we are doing.

STT IS MAILING OUT A $50 VOUCHER TO EVERY RIDER WHO ATTENDED. IT IS GOOD TOWARDS EITHER SATURDAY OR SUNDAY AT OUR FIRST POCONO WEEKEND OF 2007. DETAILS WILL BE ON THE VOUCHER AND POSTED UP HERE SHORTLY AS WELL.

    UPDATE NOV 1st:

We have recieved questions about the voucher and STT's "rain policy" The rain policy (cut & pasted from our Policy and Proceedures) is as follows:

BE AWARE!!!! All Sportbike Track Time venues have a "rain-or-shine policy" (except Grattan weekdays). For Grattan weekdays, we will issue a rain check good for a future weekday "make up" event at Grattan. The track facility or SportbikeTrackTime will call rain days, you must be present to receive a voucher. Rain-check vouchers are non-transferable and expire 12 months from date of issue. Sorry, there are no exceptions. In the extremely unlikely event that management at a venue calls the day prior to any on-track activity due to the track being deemed "non-ridable", a make up date may be issued for a future date of the venues choosing. This date will be the sole remedy and no refunds/credits for future events will be issued by Sportbike Track Time. An event voucher will be issued to all riders scheduled for the event. This voucher may be transferred to another current STT member of the same skill level group if desired.

Please note that the only venue that offers guaranteed rain dates is Grattan, and only weekdays at that.

Pocono's rain policy is: If a wheel is not turned on the track, we get 50% off of the base track rental (does not include ALS, Cornerworkers, Safety, Haybales) of an available make up date IN THE SAME SEASON. We had a choice of a weekday in late October and that was an option we didn't think would be particularly popular.

We decided to offer a $50 voucher good towards Sat or Sun in April. We recieved no refund or credit of any kind from Pocono towards the April 2007 dates, nor were they contractually obligated to issue any.

This voucher is not a "make up day" voucher. It is a discount voucher good for a specific discount off of specific event(s). The track at Pocono was not unridable (standing water, mud, etc...) the conditions (rain & fog) were poor.

Fog and rain are hazards associated with Pocono and riding in general.

The "if the track is unridable" provision sprung from when we had a case in the past where there was so much standing water and mud on a track (it was sunny but had rained

extremely hard the prior 2 days and nights) that it was not able to be cleared and the track surface was deemed "unridable". It was not for rain or fog as was the case at Pocono.
