There was a 2-up session when I ran Tally last September, but I wasnt prepared for it (well, my girlfriend/pit chief wasn't prepared for it).

Does STT run a 2-up session at every track event? I am wondering if we should attend every event ready to run 2-up.

Is the 2-up session available for all 3 groups?

This might be a stupid question, but are the tech requirements the same for the 2-up session? I assume they would be because you are still on the track. But the reason I ask is because if I plan on running 2-up, I will bring my R1 street bike and we will ride it for the 2-up session only.

If I need to track prep my R1, I will do so ahead of time so I can just roll it out of the trailer and go.

Along those same lines, if I plan on doing that, will I need to go through Tech with my track bike and R1 at the beginning of the day? Will I need to get/put a group sticker on my R1 also?

    Thanks.

"Most" events I have attended with STT have done a short (15 minutes or so) female only/2-up session after lunch.

Tech requirements are the same, ie. Safety wire your oil filter & drain plug, no propylene glycol antifreeze (not sure what group you're in but it's a good idea, even if you're in novice, required for I & A) tire wear, brake pads etc. just make sure that it's safe & passes tech for your normal riding group & you're fine.

FWIW, we don't usually do a ladies & two-up ride here in the eastern division- it depends on the regional director.

    Cheers,
    Lance

Occasionally the track might not allow it, like Putnam for instance. You should be able to find out on here during the week before any given event though. Unfortunately, it also gets dropped sometimes to get the day back on schedule. The bike involved would have to be appropriately prepped.

    Thanks for the comments.

My R1 is due an oil change so I will go ahead and safety wire everything while I am at it.

The only other thing I will need to do is swap the coolant.

Since I started riding the track last year, I bet I haven't ridden 200 miles on the street. I have thought about going ahead and fully track prepping my R1 and putting track bodywork on it. Then I could take it with me and ride it on the track if i feel the urge, or at least have it there for a backup.

I plan on getting something along the lines of a Triumph Sprint ST for the street.

There was no 2up at Road Atlanta last year, explanation was that it's too fast a track.
