********SOLD******** After three coaching seasons with STT, I decided, to no longer coach, and I also decided to no longer ride motorcyces, so I am selling all my track stuff. PM me if interested, or contact me through Craigslist. 2006 GSX-R1000 track bike for sale $5490. Tennessee title. This bike has been used for track day riding and coaching with STT, no racing. ODO reads just over 8800 miles. I am getting out of the sport of motorcycling, as I now have two young children. I have owned the bike since 2009, when I bought it from someone that had put just over 2000 miles on it. I have used this bike as a project for building an ultimate track day weapon, that is reliable, fast, and rails in the turns. The 2005-2006 GSX-R1000 is considered to be one of the best 1000cc model years produced by Suzuki, due to a light nimble chassis, and a powerful and torquie engine. The engine was so liked that Suzuki has reissued it in a new naked bike; although "tuned for torque". I have changed the oil regularly every two to three track weekends using Motul Ester based oil. The suspension was serviced regularly as well. The bike is as light as some 600cc bikes, and more powerful than many liter bikes. Since I have coached with STT for the last three years, and primarily Novice and sometimes Intermediate, most of the miles on the engine since its build have been relatively easy. The power is super linear with no hits, and the on/off throttle transition is not choppy compared to other 1000cc bikes. This is an easy 1000cc bike to ride, it requires no maintenance (other that regular fluid changes), needs nothing, and I hate to get rid of it. You are buying a total package to get you started in the insanely awesome and addicting world of trackday riding; see mods and extras below. Quick run down: Engine Built by NPS (Niagara Power Sports). Supersport build: Blue printed, valve job, machined head a new head gasket, etc, etc. PiperCross foam filter, RaceFit slip-on exhaust, Flashtune computer tune, quick shifter, full ohlins internals in forks, Elka rear shock, vortex foot pegs, Woodcraft clip ons, CRG brake levers, Braking rotors, Spiegler brake lines, Vesrah RJL XX brake pads, hotbodies racing body work, Zero gravity Double Bubble windscreen, frame/axle/swingarm sliders, fully safety wired. Plenty of extras, including: wheels with rain tires, one pair of tire warmers, spare rear tire warmer, 3 spare handle bars, an new oil filter, lower fairing, rear tire (Michelin Cup, 200 size B compound, used, good for little tally), etc. The bike is mechanicaly strong, and dyno'ed at 179whp. I will also throw in a spare lower fairing. It is used but in decent shape (some scrapes). It comes with Duz fasteners. AND to clarify, the quick shifter is GP shift pattern.
Sebastian.... You will be missed man..... I have 3 1000's now so when you get the itch you have my number..... I wish you and your family the best man.... We had lots of good times for sure off and on the track....
If it doesn't sell as a package (or if you are willing to part out some of the extra stuff), I'd be interested in buying the home made subframe!
Thanks Mark, we sure did have some fun. I might have to take you up on the offer of one of the 1000, especially if you go up to the Corvette museum track. VinceB, how much is the subframe worth to you?
Mark you have me thinking of the harmonics of two GSXR1000s riding next to each other. One of my favorite memories.
Bump. I also found a rear Michelin Cup 200 profile, B compound rear tire that would be perfect for little Tally. It is worn on one side and has good life left in the center and other side. I'll throw that in also.
I will be adding 1/2 gallon of engine ice and a dealer service/shop manual to the motorcycle sale. I forgot to mention that the engine is protected with Woodcraft case covers/protectors on both sides. There is also a Vortex cover on what I believe is the water pump. AND the bike has a manual cam chain tensioner.
Sorry, haven't been on the site and sort of forgot about my inquiry (hit you up over on WERA as well). Wondering if the mount points are the same as normal (not stock tailsection necessarily but aftermarket bodywork). Seat or no seat bodywork? Picture of it on the bike? Thinking probably somewhere around $100 or so but depending on functionality and what it looks like, could come up a little.
Sorry I haven't good back with you sooner. This is for the upper most section only where the passenger seat would normally mount. But this part can not hold any load. Race bodywork should mount fine though, and it bolts up to stock locations.
Ahhh - now I understand. Sorry but going to pass on it. Thanks for the reply and good luck with the sale! If I didn't already have my 06 1000, I'd definitely be interested in yours - very clean and good spares!
