Depending on the pace for the day (sometimes there are more REALLY fast guys than others) generally between 1:35 to just under 1:50 I think. Average being probably between 1:37-1:42ish I think. Every now and then though you get a handfull of guys going 1:30-1:35, but there will only be one to two of those guys per weekend usually
I was running in the 1' 45's.......1' 46's all day on Sat and Sunday. I'm certainly not the fastest or slowest out there. I was certainly getting passed and I was passing some folks. This was only my second time at Barber and the previous time was two years ago, so I am still learning the track and lines.
That is what I was running in "I" group and the CR's recommend that I move up to "A" next event. I want to be sure I'm in check before stepping up. I've always taken each step as they come & don't want to overstep what each group has to offer!
Dont forget, speed is not the end all be all of A group really. You have to be able to go quickly, but do so smooth and predictably. If the coaches said you were good to go, you probably have that covered. Next you have to be comfortable being passed really close, and really fast without spooking and tossing your line. Taht is probably the hardest thing to get used to IMO
+ 1 on Joe said. I'm like everyone else out there, I want to drop some time off of my laps, but more importantly for me is to learn and know the best lines for me, be smooth and predictable in doing those lines, and try to get consistent with each and every lap. I know I've got work to do at Barber especially, as I stated before........this past weekend was only the second time that I've been there and I'm getting pointers and tips on lines. I'll be giving it another shot come the end of July.
I would say 45's would be mid pack in A most of the time. Then the top dogs run 10 to 12 seconds faster I would imagine
Yup, like that LOL or like these , sometiems he has the inside line instead, after a drag race from the turn before 8) http://store.motohd.net/STT-at-TGPR-May-2010/Saturday/Advanced/12372917_AEwwY#884455730_XLinp
But don't forget, the reason that he is progressing so well is because of the advice that he got from my wife Peggy at Tally last November!
