Local shop has a pair on clearance for $220. I've been riding in generic leather work boots so about any track type boot is going to be an an improvement. I don't ever expect to get so deep into track riding that I feel I need a top of the line boot. Okay, maybe I might need them but my wallet isn't cracking open that far. Even these at $220 are pretty painful on the wallet.

    Thoughts?

Can't speak to their road products, but their off-road boots are the bomb! Love them!

I have a pair and they are great. I've since upgraded to a nicer pair of Astars but not because there was anything wrong with the Gaerne boots.

Also have the GP-1's. Very comfortable, fit and finish seem to be top notch. The lateral ankle protection (probably the most important factor in a track boot) seems to pretty sturdy compared to other boots I've owned. I've only used them for a few track days so far, so can't speak to durability yet. That's a pretty good price for the boots (assuming it's the GP-1's) but I would definitely check eBay as well....:thumb:
