I have a question I should have asked a long time ago. With regard to back protectors, what is an appropriate style. I think in the past I've read that the CE type i.e. soft type that you slip in your lining were not acceptable. What I have is similar to that with the exception that is has hard plastic plates down the spine. It does slip into the liner of my suit though and doesn't get attached to my person per se. Is this an acceptable back protector? It is a Vanson and came in the suit I have. Thanks, B
Who else's rules matter? Yep, that's what I mean. I've been looking at back protectors that you wear independent of the suit but I haven't yet found one that I like for a price I like. If what I currently have is unacceptable I will kick it in the @$$ to get one. I like the one Icon sells but the SBTG presentation described it pretty much as better than nothing. I'd rather spend a little more but get something that adds more protection. B
with gear you should always spend the money because it will: 1. last longer 2. provide better protection in a crash 3. less likely to fail in a crash I like the knox. They are proving themselves time and time again. I think you'll do well with that choice. I would look at the choices on STG site and pick what fits best in your budget. I know it's not always easy to fork out 200 + bucks
Thanks guys. Went down for the first time ever on a bike, track or street. Was glad to have good protective gear on. Only the bike was scratched, I wasn't at all. B
