Just curious what it costs to camp at Talladega. We are planning on coming down Saturday 29th, camping, then riding on Sunday. I know the gates usually close at 10:00 pm Sharp, and are locked all night.
Zero, Zippo, Nada, Nuthin..... $5 Gate fee usually to get in but it is a very Camping friendly place.... No Ground Fires but you can take a fire pit as long as you take your Ashe Home.... Warning... There is a Rooster from Hell just South of the Track that starts around 5:10AM....
 I can't speak to the volume, but the cocks in KW aren't as courteous as to wait 'til 5AM... I tend to think they all originated in hell... but isn't that why you rebs take earplugs to the track?
What is the typical trackday morning like? I ask this because I am debating on camping or getting a hotel room. Is there plenty of time to get everything ready in the morning? Is there such thing as bad parking at Talladega… that is if you stay at a hotel and come in that morning? Also, I assume there are bathrooms you can use at the track when camping?
Yes bathrooms and showers are at the track. Its not a big deal to come the morning of and set up though. Registration and tech usually opens at 7:00 and stays open I think until 8:30, so if you get to the track when the gate opens,(I believe 6:00), you should have plenty of time to get set up, register, and tech. After tech closes, they'll announce when its time for the riders meeting. You must attend this meeting, it doesn't matter if you're a beginner or a seasoned rider, important issues are discussed at this meeting. Then its time to get ready and ride. Someone else please chime in if I left out anything. We're only camping this time because we've never done it before, and we wanted to save some money. Should be fun to hang out at the track.
? Is anyone camping with a tent or do you all have campers? I dont have a camper but wouldnt mind using my tent, or sleep in my bike trailer. My question is, do you have to have a camper to camp?
Re: ? Tents are fine there will be more than a few of those I slept in Fassina's trailer last year. Can get a little loud late at night but is a enjoyable thing to do. I will be doing the camping thing in May is part of the fun about Tally
I sleep in the back of my truck. Had a few beers and made some friends the night before. If you like sleeping outside, like I do, I say try it.
Re: ? I didnt know you were planning on camping the night before...geez you live 30 minutes from the track? Anyway, Can I stay and camp with you.? I promise not to let the 600 hurt your liter's feelings.
Re: ? Maybe 30 minutes from Barber but not Tally I will be spending the night at the track that is part of the fun.
