Chest Protectors

Discussion in 'STT General Discussion' started by taekwondochamp, Aug 19, 2007.

  1. In June at Road Atlanta there was a chest protector shown that was "available" through STT. What was the name brand and type of protector was this? Will it work with all back protectors? Where is it in the store?

  3. The Knox appears to have more protection than the Bohn; however, if my eyes are correct, the Bohn has a hard sternum protection versus the soft knox. Are there any safety ratings?

The Knox is CE certified; the Bohn is not CE certified. Buy the Knox.

Whatever one u get make sure there is a elastic strap that goes over your stomach. I have the Bohn cool max and there is no abdominal strap so when I put my suit on it pushes the back protector up on my shoulders. I have to have someone there to help hold it down and this gets old quickly.

The one I wear and display is from www.johnsonleathers.com It is only available directly thru them. It will work with all backprotectors. It is called Tpro and wraps all the way around you .

I have the Bohn... I already had the Bohn back protector so I thought I'd stay the same for the chest.

BEFORE I got the chest protector I had an off at Blackhawk where my chest hit the tank pretty solid, and I can tell you, even just bruised ribs hurt! It was a reminder of all the rather important components in one's chest....

I feel a LOT better having that chest protector.....

I have the Johnson Leather one as well... I really like it allot. With the added torso protection it can only be a great thing!

  13. how difficult is the T force to deal with along with a multistrap back protector. I currently wear the A star tech series.

I run a Teknic Back protector and strap it on over it... There is no bunching or binding at all once all zipped up so I dont think you will have a problem with it..

  15. R U running the Race lite or the upper torso protector?

hrm, the first thing I see on that torso protector, is what I don't like about my Bohn back protector - the buckles sit *right on top* of my collarbones. I've started not using the arm straps, and just the belly belt because of that.
