preparing my gsxr 600 (2007) I wonder if I should safety wire the clutch cover too.

I am not sure about the technical name of what I am talking about here, please see the picture attached...the red arrow points a nut...does it need to be wired?

if yes, does anybody have suggestion on how to do it?

    thanks,
    guido

Not required for track days just racing.

rtv would be easier, if you do it.

Thats your oil galley plug and for racing rtv or silicone is all it needs

You can drill through the center nut at an angle or buy the Yoshimura engine plugs that already have safety wire holes.

got one more question...going through the tech inspection list I noticed:

_Brembo fronts wired or tie wrap through the pivot

    what is supposed to mean???

    sorry about my inexperience

The big inspection cover is wired correctly might as well do the little one while you're at it. Also your oil fill the wire should pull to the right, you have it pulling to the left so theoretically it could loosen.

I don't have a Bumbo but my understanding is that the bolt or pivot point that holds the brake lever on falls out occasionally if not wired. OH and then your front brake lever falls off:eek::crutch:

Good job on the cover. Steve 802 is correct on the oil fill plug. Wire to the other end and wire the smaller engine plug too

Brembo non RCS master cylinders the brake lever pivot is hollow and held on by a clip. Run safety wire through the hollow pivot.

so just to be clear, the brembo RCS doesn't need any special treatment? I belive it has a bolt that threads into the body, with a lock nut as a saftey..?

Also if you go by a hardware store you can get a pin then wire to that and put it through the oil filler cap. Saves you from having to rewire it on oil change yet is still safe and visibly so. I would not do that on the filter or drain but it saves you some time.

Oh and tape your wheel weights that is required I believe

That is all well and good unless the nylock insert has been used up.

As mentioned earlier, just change these 2 bolts and rewire the oil fill.
