STT would like to send our condolences and prayers to the family of fallen rider Jason Campbell.

Jason took a spill Saturday at Talladega and sustained injuries from which he was not able to recover.

Godspeed Jason... you will be missed.

All of you who ride with us are our extended family. To Me, Bonnie, Mark and Lois you are all like bothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, sons and daughters. Especially for me as I don’t have any family to speak of... When we lose a family member I weap for thier loss and for the loss to our close knit community. When we loose a member of this it is indeed exceptionally difficult.

We started Sportbike Track Time (then Sylvania Track Time)nearly ten years ago because I was tired of seeing friends hurt on public roads and I wanted to make it easily accessible for all of us to ride in a safer environment with no cars, gravel, traffic, etc. and enjoy, together, what gives us all so much pleasure. We all know and understand that there is an elemental risk is what we do and choose to accept this risk in exchange for the rewards of riding. I for one do it because there is no other moment in my life when I feel more alive than when I am riding. Just riding… on track or touring it doesn’t matter.. it’s what keeps me going.

It's the rewards of riding that are so much harder to share than the pain. The words do not seem meaningful - like when you really love someone, so deeply that the simple thought of expressing it cramps your chest and dries your throat. Words describing the ride only scrape the surface of the true meaning.

The depth of the experience is lost in translation when applied to paper, it just simply cannot be done....

Riding is absorbing solitary moments and camaraderie..... at the same time. We each have our own experience, and we somehow draw from the same well of emotions, of stress, of fears and satisfaction.. The camaraderie we experience is indeed exceptional. We share the passion and a language. Words can't describe it - but riding can.

We will always be riding in the company of those who left early. They will always be our race partner or a comforting friend when we ponder old machines or a steadying hand going into that tricky section of track or twisties…… and one thing is certain, we will ride together again in due time.
