Sunday looks great, and the track mostly drys fast so you will have a good day (and it's supposed to be COOLER)

So need some advice, Ive never ridden in the rain.
I apparently cant cancel and im worried.

I only have GPA 211s or some new street tires (BT016s)

What are my other options and what would be the route to go for ridding on saturday?

What group are you riding? Novice? If so, the street tires will work fine. Ride up a gear from normal work on your fundamentals and being smooth. You will learn more in a day of rain riding than many dry days if you work on the fundamentals.

    It will be a blast!

Riding in the rain will give new challenges. This is my 1st track day in the rain and I will back it off to about 75% instead of my normal 95% at the track. As stated above...work on fundamentals (smooth braking, good cornering lines, etc).
    It will be fun!!!!

Thanks guys, Ill be in Intermediate.

    So run the BT016s?

What other options do I have, i feel the gpa 211s would be too slick out there?

Tire vendor? How much for some rains? 180,120 or 190,120

GPA's DO NOT work at all in the wet. Bring your street tires and run street pressures in the rain. Have fun with it

My first track day was steady to hard rain and while I was scared to do it, I did it anyway. The rain stopped after lunch and the track started to dry up a bit for the afternoon sessions. I was on BT-003's which are supposed to not be good for rain or wet conditions. I learned more on that day than all of my years of street riding about how to be smooth with throttle and braking and I'm glad I had that experience. I now enjoy the occasional rain sessions and have yet to try rains even though I own a set. I use Bridgestone S-20's and have been amazed at how well they perform in rain or wet conditions! Start slow and just work on being smooth is my advice. Oh, and yes, run street tires rather than the 211's.

Hey just wanted to say thanks to everyone for a great first time for me day at barber on Sunday. Had some traction issues mid day but a few sketchy moments later and I've realized time to step on up tire choice. Hope everyone got home safe.

I did. And it was great got some tips from Vern and Shawn. My son who is 8 had fun out there too. He loves the rider meetings and knows some of the answers to Trevors questions.

I'm really looking forward to riding this track in September with you guys! If I'm running my AMB transponder, can I get a print out of my lap times at the end of the day?
