I'm curious what everyone?s favorite track is. List what tracks you have been to, and then your favorite and why. Has anyone ridden at any outside the US?
So far, Barber, but with Mid-O having just been repaved, I'll have to get up there to check it out and I might have a new fav.
I've been to Putnam, Gateway, MAM, and Barber...with that said barber wins hands down. I'm going to go to MidO this year so we'll see after that
I've ridden: Summit Point Main Summit Point Jefferson VIR North VIR South Beaverun Pocono FUSA Barber Jennings Mid-Ohio Pahrump I think VIR North and Barber tie for favorites (both are fantastic tracks). Beaverun and Summit Main come in a close second (good layouts and familiarity with the track makes 'em rather enjoyable). Mid-Ohio, particularly now that it's repaved, could sneak it's way into the top of my list this season when I have a change to get back up there again. 'Course, I haven't done Jennings in about two years and I remember her being one of my favorites too. Oh who am I kidding... if it gets me going in twisty circles real fast I'll enjoy just about any track! LOL.
I've been to: Grattan Gingerman Autobahn North Autobahn South Autobahn Full & BeaverRun My favorite so far is BeaverRun, but if Sam would fix the pavement in T2 & the chicane/trasition between the BusStop & the straight (T12), Grattan would be my favorite hands down, but that probably has as much chance of happening as a blizzard in August...
I've raced at: Willow Springs Sears Point Road America Mid-Ohio Nelson Ledges Watkins Glen (cars) Pocono NHIS Little Talledega Road Atlanta Daytona Kershaw (Carolina Motorsports Park) Charlotte Rockingham Barber Roebling Road Putnam Park Gingerman Grattan Summit Point (main and Jefferson) VIR (north, south, Full, Grand) Bridgehampton Lime Rock (cars) Silverstone, UK Mallory Park, UK ...and my favorite is Barber. Not as fast as Road America or Road Atlanta, not as crazy blind as Grattan, not as hilly and wack as Sears, not as scary as Willow, not as intense as VIR Full Course, not as colorful as Mallory, but just the perfect place to go ride your motorbike. Smooth, technical, thrilling, beautiful, challenging, only thing I would change would be a longer straight and a safer pit-in.
i've ridden/raced: grattan cw grattan ccw gingerman autobahn s autobahn n mid-ohio road america nelson ledges beaver run virginia int'l raceway jennings gp sentimental favorite: grattan cw. got my knee down first there in t4, local favorite layout: nelson ledges favorite to brag about: road america there is not one of these that i don't like....well...except for the track condition of (old mid-ohio, and nelson). mid-ohio may become my fav layout once i ride the new pavement.
Grattan is my favorite by virtue of location and the challenge of making a good lap there. Otherwise, Pahrump, if it were a little closer, would be my favorite since that's where I really found my speed. Haven't done a track I don't like yet. (Hi Jig)
We had a problem at school that needed to be rectified right away. Fortunately, it had nothing to do with my work.
Wuz up Plarp. Jig gets a hi but I don't? ... I see how it is. I guess he is cuter than me. I mean, look at the pretty smiling face!
Let's see...I've ridden at: Pocono East Pocono FUSA NHIS BeaveRun VIR South Mid-Ohio Grattan Summit Point Main Jennings Favorite so far is Grattan!
I have ridden Pocono East Pocono F-USA Summit Point Jefferson Summit Point Main Beaver Run Watkins Glen (won't ride again, too much AARMCO, unless its removed) Favorite of these is Summit Point Main, close second BeaveRun F-USA is fun once you learn it. Because its a once a year visit this takes some time. Will not ride again is Summit Point Jefferson Must ride tracks include: Road America (hopefull for 2006) Mid Ohio (hopefull for 2006) Laguna Seca Sears Point (Infinion) after talking with local riders during the 2005 MotoGP weekend
Summit Point Main and Beaverun are almost a tie in my mind. I really like the layout of both. From what I hear, Grattan may be my new favorite. I'll find out on July 1st.
