I suppose the title says it all - my legs are fried at the end of the weekend every time out. I'm not what I would call a complete gym rat, but I also never skip leg day at the gym. I do all the normal leg stuff like squats, leg extensions, stair machine, etc. but I still can't walk up the dang stairs for like two days after being at the track. Are the movements on the bike just that "specialized" and difficult to reproduce in the gym, or are my problems caused by not doing enough track days and not creating that muscle memory, or is there likely something wrong with my technique or form? Am I working against myself out there?

I just do a lot of body weight squats, seems to help me.

I think the only thing that really can prepare you for this, is more track riding! Body weight and a few other things help, but nothing will really prepare you other than more track time.

Yeah, I think I'm coming to that realization. Been a tough year in terms of actually getting on track-bike issues all year. Thanks for the replies!
